Per a report from Variety, Millionaire will be taping its upcoming fifteenth season in front of a live studio audience at Bally's Las Vegas. Chris Harrison will be staying on as the host, but the entire production will be moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, from its current home in Stamford, Connecticut. Time will tell what changes, if any, will result from the move.

Seeing as how this will technically be a "major" anniversary, I think we might be in line for a possible look at feel change. I mean dragging the studio setup from lower Manhattan to upper Manhattan then Stamford wasn't easy. But I'd like to believe that rather than sending the entire setup across the country (ala what Wheel of Fortune does) that they would consider changing the look and feel a bit. Maybe even more music tracks.
Also with this news, this means I attended the last taping in Stamford :/

Very interesting move by the production team.
Usually when a big change happens (in this case the entire studio moving), a lot more changes go along with it. Perhaps there is something else that will be changed as well, such as a new or revamped soundtrack, set remodel, or money tree remake? I can't wait to see what the Millionaire Team has in store for us.

Whaat? Millionaire is moving here? That's pretty cool and all, but why all of a sudden the big move from east coast to west coast? To me, the show is almost synonymous with the east coast. Whatever happens, I just hope this doesn't degrade the show's quality again.

Oh, I'm so doing the five hour drive up there. No way I'm missing out on this (especially if it's temporary).

If there were any worthwhile changes coming, I believe that information would have been included in the press release announcing the move. I would love for there to be many changes made, but I just don't see it.

So Bally's is a casino, right? Have other notable TV shows been filmed there in the past? The whole thing doesn't exactly shout "high production value". I am looking forward to seeing how the audience dynamics will change, though. At some points this season, I wished the had added canned laughter in post-production.

The only TV shows I can think of are Price is Right (for specials), Let's Make a Deal (ABC owned it and moved it there for a period), LAs Vegas Gambit (Wink Martindale show from the 70's-80's). There's definitely been a few shows that been produced there.

I wonder if they'll allow casino patrons to play the game. That would be a huge incentive to go to Bally's, not to mention that people who are already in the mood to gamble would likely be risk takers as contestants.

However, the only show that I know of that has been taped at Bally's was the second season of Monopoly Millionaire's Club which actually wasn't that bad, IMO. Also, Millionaire's website has oficially recognized the move: link

Not exactly sure how to feel about this move. They're going farther away, now; over to the Pacific. I guess that's just me, living in the East coast, wanting to travel up North to see the show. Aw well, I'm still looking forward to the new season. It's nice how Chris Harrison will remain as host.

Hey, millionaire has always been in the east coast, this will definitely be a change. So glad that Chris is staying as host.

Oh, I know Bally's Casino. That was the setting for the 2 seasons of MONOPOLY Millionaires' Club. But after its official cancellation and its final episode, it will be along ride from CT to NV. But, is the money tree the same?

I'm unsure about this change. 15 years in syndication is one understandable reason, but I don't know what the changes are as a result of the movement over to Vegas.
One thing does boggle my mind: Do the producers still have the original pillars/arches, along with the Hot Seat, from the older set? Or are they just going to keep using this one for a few years more? I'd really like to see a return of the original format by 2019, the year of the franchise's 20th anniversary.

When I was in NYC a few years ago, I saw the old Hot Seat in the hallway outside the studio with a tarp over it. Not sure if they still have it or not, though it would be really disappointing if it's been scrapped.
