www.ludia.com/en/games.phpKeep in mind that this will be a PS3 port of Ludia's recently released Wii and PC game. However, this could be noteworthy for several reasons. 1) Ludia has been known to fix bugs in their games in subsequent releases. It's possible that the pesky "reading the question" cue will actually stop playing when the timer music starts during multiplayer in this edition. Heck, a fix to any of the Wii version's anomalies would be welcome. 2) The Wii version had significant framerate issues that were not present in the PC version. It's possible (dare I say, very possible) that a PS3 release would be free of the slugglish framerate problem, resulting in a smooth-playing console experience. 3) It's highly unlikely, but it's possible that other issues could be fixed, such as the incorrect music cues in Questions 1-5. This will most likely be a PSN release (a game available through the PS3 download service, not a boxed game), so keep an eye on the Playstation Store for the game to become available in the near future.

Seems like a cool idea but I probably won't be buying. I've bought game show games off PSN before and they bore me honestly within a few hours.

There needs to be a demo before I'll make any decision. However, knowing Ludia, there likely won't be. However, I would fully support a PSP version, for reasons that I can't really say here

Yeah, speaking of the demos, the Playstation 2nd and 3rd edition demos are gone (Regisfan helped find them for me the exact same time he found out the BV Interactive demos were pulled).

I know there's been some discussion about this in the shout box for the past few days, but I thought it was worth posting in this thread that the trailer for the PS3 version of "Millionaire" is now available for download in the PSN store.
The trailer (and its information page in the store) reveal a few more tidibts about the game:
1) Online multiplayer is confirmed as being part of the game. How exactly this will be implemented is unknown.
2) There are some graphical updates to the game, including lighting effects coming down from the ceiling. Furthermore, unlike the Wii version, the lights around the edge of the studio are now clearly visible as in the PC version.
3) Obviously, motion controls are no longer a part of the game. Each element on the game screen is assigned a button on the PS3 controller.
It seems as if a real effort was made to improve the game for the PS3. I was worried that this would be a straight port of the Wii version, but this game will indeed have some unique features. Hopefully the main problems with the Wii version, frame rate issues on the animations and overlapping sound clips in multiplayer, will be fixed for this version. It would be wonderful if Ludia also fixed all of the mismatched sound cues from the first tier (and perhaps added in more cues for the lifelines), but I'm not sure if the game improvements will extend to issues that only diehard fans would notice.
Here's hoping this is the strongest version of the game yet. Presumably the game will be released in the next few weeks, so keep an eye on the PSN store.

Thanks to GSK for bringing this to our attention in the Shout Box! Ludia has issued a press release that reveals the release date of the [/i]Millionaire[/i] PSN game as November 22. www.ludia.com/en/news_20111117_psn_releases.phpMost of us thought this game was canned when the listing for the game's online code was removed from Amazon. Not to mention Ludia's recent release of the new shuffle format game. But the original Amazon listing was correct, and the new PSN game will be available for purchase next week.

The "Special Editions" game looks really slick, but I doubt we'll be seeing it stateside, just as I doubt that those of you across the pond will be seeing Ludia's game available for purchase. Different publishers hold the rights to produce and release "Millionaire" games in different countries.

Ludia's game is now available on the PSN. Unfortunately, other than HD visuals and the addition of online play, there are no major changes to the game. The game looks good, but that's about it. And that horrible multiplayer glitch that causes two music cues to constantly overlap with one another is still there. For only $10, it might be worth it to some of the most die hard fans, but be forewarned that there's really nothing here that we haven't seen before.
