It has been reported that ITV has axed the regular public version of British Millionaire after 13 years. ITV have said the show will only continue as celebrity specials. Shame, I always wanted to go on the show. Oh well, what can you do?

...Yeah, they said that for us in France, and then it appeared they were working on a "Hotseat" show.
That's better than having nothing. Maybe it's the next thing to come in the UK.

I wouldn't be so sure: the Daily Mail only says it COULD face the axe, it hasn't said it HAS... yet.

On facebook Millionaire UK Page and a comment from someone saying "Heard show might me cancelled. Would be devastated as I would have loved to have the chance to go on the show"
However there was a comment from MillionaireUK "Hi Nick, Don't believe everything you read in the press!! More news coming soon"
So theres a chance that it might no be axed

I heard that a lot of people dislike Chris Tarrant. I understand this is not his fault, rather possibly ITV's or 2waytraffic, I'm not sure. Is there some reason for many's not liking Tarrant? Did he do something or is he just not likeable?

This is definitely not the doing of Chris Tarrant, everybody. No need to go into panic mode just yet.
I think we've all seen the writing on the wall for a long time now. UK Millionaire has been struggling for a while. That being said, it's a tremendous loss to see it go. It's always been good to know that the original version was still airing regularly in its home country. To lose that kind of anchor is very sad. It had a remarkable run, especially considering how few changes it has undergone over the last decade.
I'm sure that the show will continue on in some format. Perhaps as sporadic primetime specials, as in the US. Or maybe the game will be changed to the Shuffle format.
Or... could it be moving into syndication in the UK? That format might serve the show better, given its current ratings for non-celebrity episodes.
I'm sure there will be more news soon. Until then, please refrain from panicking and making random accusations. It's at times like these that random statements can become dangerous rumors.

It's bad enough a version of WWTBAM gets pulled, but the one that started it all?
Lets hope that this isn't the case!

Sorry, the question doesn't fit "So if UK Millionaire was pulled, but ITV allowed it to work in another form, what format do you think will benefit the show?"
