Greetings to all! My name is Matthew Warren and I hail from a small town known as Frewsburg, NY, just 6 miles south of the birthplace of America's most famous comedianne, Lucille Ball. Something interesting about me is that I host a Live version of "WWTBAM" here in my hometown occasionally as a charity benefit. I've constructed a replica of the NY set complete with lights, sound effects, complete music soundtrack, and the famous hotseat where we've had more than 50 contestants participate in the last couple of months. I love hosting the show in my hometown and the profits go to causes such as school programs and other local organizations. I someday wish to host the Millionaire Play It! attraction at Walt Disney World in Florida, or take over for Meredith on the syndicated version if it lasts long enough. I hope to contribute to these boards and watch them grow! ;D

Hi there! I, too, hosted a local version of Millionaire, complete with lights, sounds, and a small hotseat. My dream came true! ;D
Matteymania, the only way you're hosting Millionaire after Meredith is if I don't get the job first!

What's going on everyone, I'm Kevin Hicks a 19-year old meteorology major attending North Carolina State University! I am such a HUGE fan of game shows ESPECIALLY the WWTBAM franchise (with Supermillionaire, the primetime version with the absolute MAN Regis Philibin who started it all in the U.S., and the syndicated version with Meredith Viera). I actually found out about this forum because I absolutely love the Supermillionaire series (as well as Millionaire period) and I was googling to find out any news as to whether ABC would please run another series in the future (maybe in the spring?) and I stumbled to here...I couldn't believe there was a forum for all things Millionaire so I immediately signed up! Some of the things that y'all talk about too (the lighting for the show and the logos used since Millionaire debuted in 1999) are AWESOME because those are the things I notice too. I have the 2nd edition, Kids edition and sports edition Millionaire CD-Roms as well as the handheld unit made by Tiger (the one that supposedly is hard to read through--laughing). Which reminds me: does anyone know if there have been extra cartidges made for the handheld unit? Anyways, I'm glad to be a part of this forum and I hope to contribute also as well to help making it great for Millionaire fans. THANKS!!!

Yep, there are just people out there like us that notice EVERY single detail on Millionaire. It's kind of nice to know there's a place we can talk to each other. I've often wondered if they made cartridges for the handheld game (I have it too, and I don't think it's that hard to read, but my family sure does) and I don't think there were any. Did you ever notice that you get some new questions by taking the cartridge out? I'll investigate, but I don't think more cartridges were ever made.

What's going on Regisfan! Yeah I think the handheld unit is pretty good and I do wish that Tiger made extra cartridges for it. Probably the main reason why more cartridges weren't made was because WWTBAM was such a hit when it first came out so ABC and its partner companies just wanted to make money off the show in any way possible--video games, CD-ROM's, etc.--which means that the manufacturers of the handheld unit only intended it to be played for a short period of time while the show was still a success. Some things also that I noticed about the unit: a) Why are the only values for which you can walk away with are $1000, $32000 and $1 million? (laughing) b) A good deal of the questions on the unit have the wrong answers connected to them and usually those answers are for the previous question on the same dollar amount level (for example a question related to cars may have answers that are related to fruits!) c) The Ask the Audience lifeline needs to be actually RANDOM (it seems that the audience is set up specfically for each question, noticable when the questions are repeated) d) The timer needs to be quicker (laughing) and why does it reset when you need to go back to see a question again?
Definitely Regisfan get back at me with anything else you notice about the handheld unit. Awesome talking to you!!!!
