In this thread, let's try to get an idea of what rules we want to use for our Fifth Anniversary RPG. Then, I'll start a poll with the most popular options and we'll put the official rules together.
Here are some discussion points:
-Game Style (Classic, Super, Timed, or '07) -The Money Tree -The Lifelines -Graphics -The Music (for our final video product and in-text descriptions of the cues - I'd like to stick to official music only, if we can)
We can stick to one television format, or blend them all together. The choice is up to you guys. Please throw your opinions out there.

Here's my idea, I'll do a run-down like RegisFan did.
-Classic, it's because virtually every format starts out with that, and everybody knows of the format. -Money Tree, this is where it can become tricky, currencies are different values, but I think we should do 15, and that's just for personal taste. -Lifelines, I think we should do the original three to start, and then after the 10th question, add an Ask the Expert/Three Wise Men and Double Dip. -Graphics, this I think having the Classic Graphics would work best. -Music, probably a mix, we could to for the first tier, US, second tier, UK, third tier, US. The walk-up cues, in/out of commercial could be UK.
Now if we decide to do one format, I think Classic or Super would be the most fun for anybody.

Here's mine - more of a blend of all the current formats: -Timed up to Question 10 (15 sec for 1-5, 30 for 5-10, no clock for 11-15) -Classic UK Money tree - everyone is most satisfied with it. In terms of the currency...at the time Judith Keppel won the million, the UK prize was the highest value. -Lifelines: Original 3 + extra after Q10 (Ask The Expert/Double Dip/TWM/Switch?) My poll for that came out with Switch on top. -Graphics: Ideally a darker take on the US Clock graphics to fit in with FrankT's logo. (I will try get in touch with BL5965 regarding the US graphics and his PPTx software - it's perfect for the video overlays!) Plus, we can put the big clock from the UK version if the studio we are using has a greenscreen behind the host entrance (FrankT, apparently you did an animation of that big bad clock?). -Music: We can use the US clock music for questions 1-10. The question music for 11-15 we could use the classic ones. And the US lights down cues, I think, would work best, plus other SFX like lifelines. For the theme-y bits (Q5, 10, 15 win; Walk-on, commercials, intro), I will be reworking the US clock/UK rave/Classic remix I did a year ago which is still here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9xu7ICt7ac-And for the intro...I was thinking of a pre-title cold open featuring all the great moments of WWTBAM, following with an intro like Regis did for his 10th Anniversary run, following with an intro which is a mix of the US 10th Anniversary (which Addasiekk recreated and posted on another thread here) - we could have money values instead of years flying at the cam; and the new UK intro (the lifelines bit and the clock/logo reveal...if only we could recreate that...) What do you think?

(FrankT, apparently you did an animation of that big bad clock?). I did, but I don't have the music that goes with it.

We could easily use the US music for it, we don't need to have the new UK ones.

Any more ideas in regards to the rules?

I think that adding two lifelines after the first 10 questions would be better, that has always been something that I have liked, I'll add a poll and see what everybody thinks.

Switch after Q5 and Ask the Expert/Three Wise Men after Q 10?

I actually think that it should be the other way around: Ask The Expert after Q5, and Switch after Q10

Yeah, that sounds good to me, too. The contestant could earn Ask the Expert for completing the first tier, and Switch the Question after completing the second tier.

No. No extra BS lifelines.
15 questions, no clock, 1998 graphics, Nintendo Hard.

Brilliant idea Regisfan/millionaire94! So, in terms of the format, which way are we going?

My idea: - Timed till Q10 (perhaps we could time Q15 as well...) - Music: Q1-Q10 w/ USA clock; Q11-15 classic. - 50/50, PAF, ATA on Q1, Expert on Q5 & Switch on Q10 - Graphics: my idea for this would be a black to dark blue gradient with silvery outline for the questions and the money value. - Idea for money tree:
$1 MILLION $500,000 $250,000 $100,000 $50,000 $25,000 $20,000 $10,000 $5,000 $2,000 $1,000 $500 $300 $200 $100

Why not the original money tree?
