I'm surprised nobody has pointed this out yet.
Over at the show's (new) official site, you can see some pictures of the set and also play the new game (with the sad and horrible) new music. Check it out!
Hahaha woops..I didn't see there was an 8th page before I posted that, sorry lol

I like the new online game!!! Hm. As I suspected, it sounds like Million Dollar Password. Give me time, I'll get used to it. (Can I has Greed-type music? )

Wow, I'm surprised by the new music. I hear tiny bits of the old music but, I dunno...it's gonna take a little getting used to.

I can imagine a starting narration now - like Greed - "The biggest game show in television history just got bigger. One person, in one night, can walk away with a million dollars. This... is 'Millionaire: The Million Dollar Challenge!'"
Can I still do my RPG?

LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if the producers did just that, FrankT. They seem to want to spruce up millionaire and completely change it up so that narrative fits perfectly.

Seen, the new video. And I also played the game on the website. It looks very exciting. And I also realized that Ask the Audience is the only lifeline that has survived through the entire US primetime and syndicated version of Millionaire.

The game itself, I love. It just offers a whole new twist to millionaire and I can't wait until the show's season begins.

I'd really like to know who the composer of the new music is.

That's a good point. I never asked myself that question. I'd guess though, it's the same composer of the previous music. Wild guess though.

I don't know who the composer is. It will be interesting to find out.
First of all, great job to the folks at Disney Domestic Television for putting together the nicest website syndicated Millionaire has ever had. That's a really nice site.
Secondly, the new online game is really great. Not counting that (barely supported) video-based game from a few seasons ago, this is the first truly new online game for US Millionaire since the very first one from 10 years ago!
I actually like the new theme song a lot. It's kind of a reworked version of the original song, and it's pretty dramatic and memorable. I also like the new "light's down" cue and answer reveal cues. What really falls short is the question background music - and it falls really short. It's just not memorable at all. I understand that during the first ten questions, the tension in the music can't really rise because the contestant doesn't know how much he/she is playing for. But, during Classic Millionaire, some background music more in the vein of the original format (music that grows in intensity) would definitely be appropriate.
Otherwise, the new gameplay is fun, just as I thought it was when I was on set. It definitely feels more like Millionaire seeing everything presented on the screen as opposed to sitting in the crowd. There are parts that will take getting used to, but it's not the end of the world, people. I highly encourage everyone to give this a shot on September 13.
And, speaking of September 13- make sure to check your local listings! Syndicated series can jump networks and time slots at the beginning of the new television season, so please make sure you know where and when to tune in to catch the season premiere. I, for one, am pleased, because my market has now turned into a double run market! I now get two episodes of Millionaire a day!

The area I used to live in didn't show Millionaire until 2:30am, but the area I just moved to for college shows it at 5 and 5:30, so I also now get to enjoy double-run!
