5th Anniversary Special Ideas

Ok, so after being thinking a little bit, and debating whether we should do anything to celebrate it, (RPG, live feed) I've opened this thread so that anyone can contribute to make this date a special landmark.

My first thought was to "recolor" the forum to, maybe, silver. Another thing that popped into my mind was to change the logo. (Regisfan, if you want to use mine, feel free to PM me.

What other things can we do?

My idea is that we could do a little live game via Skype, record it and then upload it here. I know that the time zone issue is kicking in here, but if we were to do it on a weekend, then a few people could wake up a bit early and a few could stay up a bit late. Personally I've done this with people in the same time zone, but it worked out very nicely.
I could provide the music for the event (already know how the stuff works) and then could edit the recording into a nice MP3 for everyone to download.

Well, I already have a special Daily Millionaire question written out, so there's one thing. I like the recoloring, though. Never thought of that.

And, HEY, I really like adasiekkk's idea. He's right, we could record a game, and then post it for other's to see. If we're gonna do that, though, we'll need to assign roles (y'know, graphics, host, contestant).

If we're going for roles now, I'd like to be the contestant. And I would recommend BL5965 with the video, if we choose to do it.

Well... do you really need someone to make the "computer"? We could maybe work with the Super Millionaire software that has just been posted. Someone makes one (or more) question.txt files, and then... Game on! The only lifeline that could get a bit hard to make up would be Three Wise Men.
Also, you could have one host for multiple contestants, and deal with an in-skype fastest finger.

Then, for video, you would just have to make a screencast of the software.

If it helps, especially for the whole "live processing" stuff, I have a mixing board. That means I can get music to go on Skype, along with voice, all of that without the echo you often get if you're doing it just with one computer. I also have my software which is dealing with the US clock rules, all the music and a not-as-good-as-BL5965-presentations graphic interface, but... well, it works.

And I can also host it, but since english isn't my native language...

Well, the Three Wise Men could be RegisFan, (administrator) FrankT (top poster) and Finalanswer19. (great helping hand to the community)

As for the graphic interface, I still think that it's way better to record a Live Skype Chat and then to add the magic touch. adasiekkk, do you still have the set used for your "Super Milionerzy"? we could use it to make the post-production, but the hard way would be that the "people" are not there... as for the titles, I'm totally amazed with those of michalg1991, but, it'll be really difficult to have them customized... how's everyone's polish working?

I think I have a copy of these titles, which I can customize with Adobe After Effects.

You can make the whole "video" stuff after, that's right. But also more complicated
Also think that all of the Three Wise Men you selected need a microphone, which is maybe not the case of all of them.

Would you mind sharing it with me, if it's OK? I've got a very clear idea of what I can do with it, and that way, you can watch the final product and make any modifications if necessary.

So what exactly are we doing, are we doing a live Skype Recording? And if so, we need to set up a time, I think that Friday this week at 5:00 PM CST would work well for everybody. I believe anybody outside of the US could possibly get to it. I checked the time zone differences and anybody in Europe could make it (it'd be a little late) and I would think that BL could get to it (it'd be pretty early).

That's my suggestion, so tell me what you think, and I could host the call on Skype if you'd like, and I could get on about 30-60 minutes early if I were to host it.

And FrankT, I've got a feeling of what it is!

Keep in mind the limitations of Skype, such as if you do a Conference call on skype it can be audio-only (only 2-person video chat is allowed on skype).

Anyone ever heard of TinyChat (http://tinychat.com/)? It's normally a place where racists and weird people get together to chat but you can also set up a private room.
