After the USA in 2020, the Australia and the UK in 2021, it's time to France to make the revival of Weakest Link ! After 10 years of absence on our screens, "Le Maillon Faible" will be comeback on the 2nd french commercial channel : M6, with a new host : Vincent Dedienne who's also a comedien. But this won't be a first for him! In fact, he parodied the show in 2019. This is the 2nd time that we have seen a relaunch of the show. Indeed, "Le Maillon Faible" was first broadcast on TF1 with Laurence Boccolini, betwen 2001 and 2007, then on D8 (now called C8) with Julien Courbet betwen 2014 and 2015. For the moment, we do not know more about the plan for the return of the show. The announcement has not yet been made officially by M6, we only know the name of the host as well as its broadcast period which will be in prime-time. I learned this news yesterday and for my part I am a little skeptical... Already because I find that Laurence Boccolini was to Le Maillon Faible what Jean-Pierre Foucault was to Qui veut gagner des millions: that is to say geniuses. We don't find phenomena like that.
The second version (2014-2015) of Le Maillon Faible with Julien Courbet I found a little below what Boccolini could do (with all the respect I have for Courbet).
Now regarding Vincent Dedienne at the presentation, well for once you will be surprised but I say...why not?
Frankly, I'll be curious to see what Boccolini's number one fan (because he said some time ago that he was "crazy in love" with her and that she came to surprise him in a show) will contribute to this game show.
Having seen his parody which dates from 2019, it made me laugh that the real version will be even better.
On the other hand, I just have one point to make, it is concerning the channel which will broadcast the relaunch of the show: I did not think that M6 would be able to release a game with enormous mechanics (in the same way as QVGDM) after their fiasco which dates back a long time ago from the French version of Greed.
Anyway, I'm waiting for the sequel haha

So last news which is important because in fact Vincent Dedienne denied this information. He is therefore not present at the relaunch of Le Maillon Faible.
He said this "I saw this flourish on social networks and it's crazy, no one called anyone to confirm or deny" basically he learned this news on social networks when he was not there all in the know. Furthermore, he is very busy with his play so he will be unavailable to host the show in the days to come.
However, the M6 channel has still not denied the return of the format, there will probably be Le Maillon Faible on the sixth French channel.

Looks like the French version will be the same as the uk and i read they are using just celebrities not regular contestants.
I am curious about the new Spain version.

It's recorded in Paris's suburb. By judging this pic, we have inherited UK stands style and US based set... floor remains a bit different from new reboot versions. |
