If Millionaire were to get rebooted in the U.S. in about 5-10 years time with regular contestants, unlike the Jimmy Kimmel version with celebrities, who would you like to host it?

Well you will surely be surprised but I would like Terry Crews to come back. Already because I watched the American version more with him than with the other animators (I watched these episodes a long time ago). And then I find that he gives off something that the others don't, probably because Crews is an actor. But often the actors surprise me when they present WWTBAM.
And then it would be fine for him, an original format, 15 questions, with questions of speed etc...
Even if he only did one season, I find him good

I think Chris Harrison should have another crack at it, provided his controversy has blown over by then.

Terry was annoying on Millionaire too shouty would run and do that dance and sounded like he was acting like a host.
I would love to see Chris Harrison hosting the original format.
David Faber guest hosted Jeopardy for a few episodes and he did amazing i think he could carry Millionaire really well.

If for you Crews would be annoying then what would it be for Meredith Vieira lol
For my part, I have never seen a complete episode with Chris Harrison so I have no opinion about him.

"[...] then what would it be for Meredith Vieira lol " I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean (did she seem boring to you?), but I still think there is quite a difference here. Terry had a tendency to just shout from time to time. Sure, he was nice, but he just was TOO loud and energetic for my liking, a bit like Cedric ("LET'S PLAY... MILLIONAIRE!!!"). I mean, it's Millionaire, not The Wall. Meredith was calm, but still got that energy and empathy for the contestants, was excited or sad for them. Personally, I'd love to see her return to the format! And other than her, I think Chris did a decent job as well! I don't know that many other US hosts tbh, so I don't know who else would be fitting for that role. But I wouldn't go for Jimmy Kimmel, honestly. He is nice, but also kinda the opposite of Terry and Cedric: He was too CALM, especially for the Million dollar win.

No, really, I don't find Meredith Vieira boring, it was a bit of sarcasm
On the other hand, I find it a bit quick to lock or validate the answer, for the presentation of the candidate as well. I had watched not so long ago the first two episodes of the 2002 version I had this impression there.
Afterwards I don't think it's the only one I found these impressions, I think it's maybe the same with Regis Philbin. The American version was inked directly, whether it was the animators and/or with the contestants themselves.
When I see that the contestants answer directly without the host asking them the famous sentence, it's that either we are in a direct hurry or it's just that we want to show our intelligence (to brag)...*
While in the European versions (for example in France, in Great Britain, or even in Germany) the contestants are willing to answer and they just wait for them to be validated by the animators who also put a little suspense. Whereas in the American version I don't see so much suspense*
**Please note this is my personal point of view, it is my personal opinion
Regarding Jimmy Kimmel, he's a late show guy, it's still complicated to link late show and an extraordinary mechanism that is WWTBAM.
To finish on Crews since we talk about it, I know that sometimes it's a guy who yells when a contestant earns money but he's so happy you see and then it still gives you a very small electroshock lol
