Ok, that's actually a big help for me. I can't believe I'm talking about AIDS on a Millionaire question tho. It just doesn't seem right…

I know what AIDS stands for in English, and although I don't speak French, I have to think that their language would have their own terminology for the disease, and thus their own acronym — in this case, it seems an awful lot like it should be SIDA. Even if I assume the French word for "syndrome" is still syndrome, I know from my limited understanding of French that any adjectives, descriptive or possessive, always come after the subject when describing it (the Montreal Canadiens would become "les Canadiens de Montréal"), so SIDA would check out.

…Unless the French just call it AIDS like we do — but then… *I feel like I've had an aneurysm (figuratively, of course)*

Oh wow. This is the part where I feel like the answer could be any of these. The name "El" is leading me towards either Spain or Portugal, but the name "Greco" sounds a lot like Greece. But since this is for a million dollars, I think I'd end up leaning towards Turkey just because... but I do not know. I don't think I'm familiar with the name El Greco at all either.

I think this is my time to leave the game, so I'm going to walk with what I've got. That's my final answer.
