I've thought of this for some time now, but can't come up with any decent ideas. Upon Millionaire's inception, the normal question and answer format was used, before changing it to the current "4 answers in the correct order" style. What would be the qualifying round that would suit the game's format, if. as mentioned, FFF would be absent?

In the former Millionaire Hot Seat Vietnam, six participants would answer a question about the number to determine their order. And I think, if it wasn't the FFF that it is today, this would be an acceptable form. Note: the question about the number is the question that has the answer to a certain number (on the date of the year, the number, etc.). For this format, ranking criteria include: 1. The error of the answer compared to the answer (regardless of whether the answer is higher or lower than the answer) 2. Response time (for those with the same results using criterion 1)

Personally I would do a spinning wheel and see who the lucky person is.... I know it sounds dumb but I did it when I was hosting a millionaire game!

That game show Greed from 1999/2000 had an opening round where it asked an open-ended question with a number answer, and whoever answered closest would be the captain for the episode. I think Millionaire could do that as a FFF alternative.

this is a few years late but I had an idea for this that I would like to share.
I think if FFF didn't exist, I think a good starting point would be one of the rounnds from Miljoenenjacht and the 2003 version of the Australian Deal or No Deal.
Keep the 10 contestants thing from FFF, and basically how it works is that contestants would be asked standard multiple choice questions and would answer with their keypads. Whoever gets the question correct will win points equivalent to the amount of people who answered it incorrectly (e.g 2 people get it right, 8 people got it wrong, the two people would receive 8 points each.)
Do this for 7 or so questions and whoever has the most points gets to play in the Hot Seat. If there is a tie, use a sudden dearh question.

Looks like a miniature version of the FFF Hot Seat with a slightly different rule, right?
