I loved the Super Millionaire version, especially with the added variations of the original music, slightly updated set, enhanced money tree, the crane-shot at the beginning, & of course Regis himself! I'm hoping that it will come back in some sort of fashion with a great host like the ones we've had.
Do you think it will come back ever?

It's wishful thinking, but I just don't see that happening. Millionaire had its time in the spotlight as a premier game show and I don't see it regaining that much popularity to warrant a second Super Millionaire. The only reason SM happened to begin with was a last-ditch effort to try and get Millionaire back in a primetime slot and off of syndication, which it failed to do so.

Never happen, because as the 2009 special and the 2020 special have proven, $1 million still draws in the viewers. No need for a budget-busting extravaganza when regular old Millionaire will do just fine.

It's a wishful thinking to some, but I do believe it would happen in the foreseeable future. I mean, why did it lasted for only two weeks in 2004 and failed miserably? It's because of the money tree payout, so I do hope it would but the amounts in the Clock format (x10) should be the money tree instead of the original money tree used in Super Millionaire.

I will never understand why some people love Super Millionaire so much. It's just pointless. The name is strange (Why not Multimillionaire? I've never heard anyone say "super millionaire" outside of the game show context.), most of the aesthetic changes changes could've been made for regular Millionaire, too (cp. Kimmellionaire this year), and nobody was ever going to win $10,000,000, anyway. They just wanted to repeat the original Millionaire craze by raising the stakes in theory but making sure nobody would ever win. Pretty on the outside, a mess on the inside. No thanks.

For me, it was the overall presentation. Gameplay wise, Super Millionaire was the first time of introducing new lifelines, so that completely changed strategy for players, and a new concept. I believe that Switch the Question wasn't added into syndie Millionaire just yet. Production wise, that long rig for that dramatic craneshot was never seen on a game show before, to my knowledge. And Super Millionaire was the first time ever, the production used a Steadicam for some more unique shots and angles throughout the show's history. Perfect example, the continuous shot of the camera circling the Hot Seat prior to entering the next dimension was never done before. Lastly, and this is completely biased...I use this format for my LIVE convention shows. 😜
