Many of you know James Holzhauer for his amazing Jeopardy streak, which ended at the worst possible moment. You may have also seen him on The Chase, but some of you might not be aware of his wife Melissa appearing on Millionaire back in 2014 with Cedric the Entertainer. James himself was in the audience for support. Melissa did pretty well, but of course we all just wanna see James now. Go to 19:27 to see James talking to Cedric. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkJWRe3aT7U

Sometimes I wonder how it would’ve been had James played instead.

Sometimes I wonder how it would’ve been had James played instead. I think we all know how it would've gone.

Exactly. James is a gambler, so...

Exactly. James is a gambler, so... Of course if he HAD played there's no doubt he would have won the million, or at least SEEN the million dollar question. Do keep in mind that the show's last winner was in 2009, and the show's last million dollar question was in 2013. Imagine if he had been a contestant and won the million. That way we wouldn't have to have gone 10 frickin' years without a millionaire.

Actually the last true Millionaire was in 2003. I personally don’t count desperate gimmicks myself. You got a point though.

The last $1 million winner in regulation was Nancy Christy in 2003. Sam Murray won $1 million in a tournament.

Exactly. The Tournament of Ten was a good idea on paper, but wasn’t executed well, and was just a desperate attempt to get a Millionaire after six years. One of many gimmicks that plagued US Millionaire’s last ten years.

One of many gimmicks that plagued US Millionaire’s last ten years. I can't help but agree. Still, you can't really say Sam Murray doesn't count as a million-dollar winner. But IMO, it's a good thing he won, otherwise the show would've had to have gone 16 years without one.
