Yay a reply for interest! Do you think the show will implement any changes, or would they follow the original format? I hope the Big Board will be as big as the original 80s one. I have a feeling the new board would be a giant video wall, and the squares would change like the original projector slides.

I'm interested too. Possibilities for Changes
1. I always think that the $470 square was really weird. Why not $450? For the ABC reboot, I want the board to have nice, round amounts. 2. Add stuff from Whammy! (the Todd Newton version from 2006) like the Big Bank and Double Whammies. (For those who don't know what a Double Whammy is, it's a punishment after the Whammy itself; usually related to the Whammy-mation* that preceded it.) *Whammy-mation = Whammy animation

The odd cash spaces (i.e. $470, $525, etc...) prevented people having the same scores, so that keep the gameplay strategy very interesting. One thing from Whammy! I would like to see implemented is the Big Bank. Double Whammies, while it had its funny moments, were a little gimmicky to me, and was added in to make it different from PYL Proper.

I just applied, keeping my fingers crossed. I do wonder how many applicants they've actually gotten.

I'm filling out my application form just now. I know they'll make it 100% impossible to replicate the late great Michael Larson's run, but that won't stop me from trying. =P

Do you think the show will implement any changes, or would they follow the original format? From what I've read, the game will feature a single-player bonus round presumably featuring the big winner of the day going against the Whammy to try to win a "fortune". I'm quite curious about this move.

There are new updates about Press Your Luck (I don't live in the U.S., but I'm excited as well). According to this article on buzzerblog.com, the first part of the game will be the classic "Press Your Luck". Two rounds, each start with the Question Round (no changes here), then they go to the Big Board (maximum value in Round One will be $5,000, and in Round Two it will be $10,000 + One Spin). The champion will keep his/her winnings and will play a bonus game to win... $1,000,000. One million dollars. The bonus works like this: Contestant plays a series of spins in 6 rounds. Each round increases the value of the squares. Round | Top Value | 1 | $10,000 | 2 | $15,000 | 3 | $25,000 | 4 | $50,000 | 5 | $75,000 | 6 | $100,000 |
Number of spins in each round is not confirmed (some say it's 6-5-4-3-2-1, some say 5-4-3-3-3-3). Hitting a Whammy (they still be there) will reset score back to $0. Hitting 4 Whammies ends the game. A contestant can walk away after the round is done, but cannot walk away mid-round. The goal is to win at least $500,000. If the contestant does it, his winnings jump to $1,000,000. Well... any opinions?

OK, so Press Your Luck with Deal Or No Deal mechanics is the Bonus Round. Deal Your Luck. Has a nice ring to it.

I kind of liked it, but it's way too early to predict. The one I really liked is that in the bonus round, because whoever wins after Round 2 has a chance to win prizes in his/her liking. It is somewhat similar to "Deal or No Deal" because of the support group, but as turnitorange said, it has a nice ring to it.
