Hi all,
I am sorry to inform you all that Robert "Bob-O" Essig passed away yesterday. His claim to fame in the game show world, was being crowned as a Million Dollar Winner on Super Millionaire, and was the only person who has faced the $2.5 Million Question. Videos to his appearance on Super Millionaire can be found below.

First Ed Toutant, now Robert Essig?

I actually had the pleasure of talking with Bob-O a few months back, shortly after taping my game. We shared our stories and a few laughs, and shared our experiences, comparing sitting in the Hot Seat to standing at The Podium are two different beasts, but it was still the same game.

His win from 2004 is still one of my favorites. R.I.P., he definitely will be missed.

I feel like his, Ed Toutant's, and Kevin Smith's Million Dollar Wins were the least celebrated. Which is a shame to me, because EVERY Million Dollar Win should be celebrated and recognized like John Carpenter's win. But what do I know...

I would have missed it if I hadn't been channel.surfing.

Absolutely saddened to hear of Bob-O's passing. His run at Super Millionaire made the show so exciting for it's premiere, especially reaching that $1,000,000 mark and earning it. A feat no other contestant has done on that version.
Thank you Bob-O, for the exciting run. May he rest in peace.

This really took me by surprise. Bob-O was a great contestant who will, I am sure, be sorely missed. I did not know how close Bob-O lived to me. It surprised me that we have never crossed paths. I have seen his daughter before because we go to the same school, but have never stumbled across him. According to the local newspaper, he has been suffering for a long time. At least he can now rest in peace. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Bob-O was such a great contestant, and his chemistry with Regis was second to none. He had a great run on the show and returned during the 10th Anniversary celebration. He was quite the man, and may he now rest.

I appreciate that Bob-O seemed to have the most personality out of all the Super Millionaire contestants. In my mind, that really made him that much more fun to watch. Even without his $1m win, he probably instantly made a name for himself as early as Q9, and he could only go higher from there.

I'm saddened to hear this news. Bob O was by far my favorite contestant to watch on Super Millionaire. He brought so much personality to the show the night(s) he appeared. My favorite line of his was when he responded "Fat Folks Don't Get Cold" to Regis making a comment on the short sleeve shirt he had on even though it was February at the time. Rest in Peace Bob O.
