Hello again, proboards. Today, I have just received a very exciting news. the Indonesian version of Millionaire WILL RETURN!!! I am so excited. It will be aired on GTV instead of RCTI (well, GTV is a younger brother of RCTI and both are subsidiaries of MNC Media). Well, no surprise, because GTV is now known as game show reviver (revived versions of Family Feud, Let's Make a Deal, and Hot Streak have been aired on GTV). So far, we do not know how much the top prize will be. I hope the top prize will somewhat be raised from a billion rupiahs (now worth about $71 000) to at least five billion or even ten billion. Moreover, we still have no info so far about the host, who he will be. Let's hope the host to be Ferdi Hasan, who has hosted the Hot Seat edition on RCTI back in 2010. source of the info is here (GTV's official Instagram account).

Considering the really small set of their version of Deal or No Deal, I am a bit worried that there is a non zero chance it will be as narrow as Nigerian set. I just signed up for the casting process. They basically asked me for your contact info before saying "We will keep you in touch later. Just make sure your phone number is right," which caught me off guard because I was expected to be given some trivia question. The good news means I have some time to prepare for the audition. I think I got solid world news, geography, science, and world history--but my pop culture and local news is a bit rusty. Planning to start reading the entertainment section of Kompas.

Hello, my fellow Indonesian Millionaire fan. do you have any idea of the top prize and the host? I hope that the host is Ferdi Hasan, the host of the 2010 Hot Seat edition, aired on RCTI. He, for me, is the only good choice for Mr. Tantowi's replacement so far.

I am pretty certain it's only 1 Billion Rupiah because if the prize is bigger, surely they would have called Super Millionaire like ANTV. My friend speculated that it's Omesh because he's basically has been hosting virtually all the revival game show.

My friend speculated that it's Omesh because he's basically has been hosting virtually all the revival game show. 1. The billion-rupiah top prize is not really life-changing now, because a billion rupiahs is now only worth about $71 000, and that amount of money is not even enough to buy a Toyota Alphard car. They should raise the top prize to either five billlion or even ten billion, and set the first and second safety net (5th and 10th question's value) to 10 million and 300 or 320 million. I've suggested my full set of money trees for the revived Indonesian version on my Instagram here. 2. In my opinion, Omesh does not really fit the show, because of either his delivery, which is not too formal, or other things which I can't explain. In Let's Make a Deal (Super Deal) and Family Feud (Family 100), he might be suitable, but for Millionaire, I personally do not recommend him. For me, the only best choice to replace Tantowi Yahya so far is Ferdi Hasan.

I can agree on point number 2.
About number 1, eh. I think $ 71 000 in the context of Indonesian economy is a life-changing amount of money. If you are being generous and say an average salary is 10 million rupiah, the jackpot is equal to 8 years worth of salary.

I assume that you have known what UMP (Provincial Minimum Wage) and UMR (Regional Minimum Wage) are. it's not that high now. even in Jakarta, possibly the city with the highest living cost index in Indonesia, the UMP in Jakarta is only almost four million rupiahs (approximately $380). For me, I want to be able to buy one Toyota Avanza car when reaching the second safety net.

Ok, let's say I am wrong and the average salary is 5 million Rupiah, then 1 Billion Rupiah is 16 years worth of salary. That is a life-changing amount of money. Arguments like "you can't buy a Toyota Alphard with 1 Billion" or "I want to buy an Avanza when I reach the second safety net" is not an argument why the prize is not life-changing, but it's an argument about your greed.
Anyway, I just got another call from them. They asked me to confirm my identity and gave me 5 questions. I think I got 4 questions right. The questions are easy enough except for the final question about Liverpool striker who was born in the 60s??? I hope that is enough.

I've read a story from Agustinus Misyadi, a newspaper carrier, who entered the show in 2005 and then won Rp500 million. after taxes, he got only 350 million.
