MIPCOM (Marché International des Programmes de Communication; International Market of Communications Programmes) is an annual trade show held in the French town of Cannes, traditionally in the month of October and running for 4 days. It is owned and organized by Reed MIDEM, a subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions. in the 2000 edition, Celador also presented their Millionaire format on the show, accompanied by some international hosts and the original British producers David Brigss and Paul Smith. Where's Regis when you need him for this! maybe he was so busy hosting Millionaire. Gunther Jauch, Amitabh Bachchan and Mino Monta also weren't there. |

Where's Regis when you need him for this! IK this thread is inactive but I thought I'd post a reply because I recently found out the reason why Regis wasn't there. He was doing his morning show, which was "Live with Regis" at the time, and couldn't make it, so they had Pamela Wallin take his place. Sorta makes sense because America helped produce the short-lived Canadian version, and let them use the US set. |

If it happened before Kathie Lee left, or after Kelly took over, Regis could have probably taken a few days off and done it, but since it was that transitional time, he really had to be on deck. |

Yes, it was during the transition. The show's title was officially "Live with Regis," but there were guest co-hosts during that time. Also I was thinking the same thing. Someone could have done the show for him while he participated in the event. |
