Cruel Chris Tarrant

I was watching an old episode of UK Millionaire (Season 13 - when the game was relaunched to feature the "big, bad" clock in 2010) last night and I was really disturbed by how Chris treated one of the contestants. Watch from 19 minutes of the video I've embedded and see if you agree with me. Some of the comments include calling her strange and generally being a little surprised by her intelligence. I hadn't really come across this before so perhaps it was a one off.





I remember strongly disliking the 2010 revamp when it was introduced as it differed so greatly from the classic format. When I look back on it now I actually quite like it!

I guess you do have a point. At first, I found nothing terribly unusual, but then he started getting into her liking boxing and not liking cheese and then making light of her phone-a-friends. I never really thought of Chris like that, but then again, I'm not terribly crazy about watching this era of Millionaire, though I still prefer this over the current syndicated Millionaire hosted by Chris Harrison. My biggest gripe about the switch to the clock is that if time ran out, the person would fall to the most recent safety net, but in the U.S., time running out on the clock meant the person could keep the money they've won.

It certainly is different from the classic version, and yes, I'm not terribly crazy about how Chris treated this contestant, though we all know how Jeremy sometimes acted towards some of them back in the spring.

I've watched a few more episodes of this era and it's really starting to grow on me. I've found Chris to generally be OK towards the majority of contestants although he did make another "strange" comment out of the blue. Maybe I'm just cruel but I quite like the fall to the safety net, it adds some extra intensity. I've set to see anyone run out of time in my revisit to the UK show.

Man has Chris Tarrant become rude these days. Good thing Jeremy Clarkson was a great replacement. Loved this man when he was still hosting Top Gear. Do you have any other vids of Chris being rude to constentants perhaps?

Not yet, I'm rewatching some of the older episodes again so will post if I see anything. Doubt it'll take too long.
