Hi everyone, What are some of your favourite pieces of music or sound effects from the various different versions of the show? I have to say I love the clock version and Double Dip soundtracks. Despite really disliking the 2007 overhaul of the UK version where the number of questions was reduced to 12, I was quite a fan of the music used for the first two questions.
I would love to hear your thoughts.

Well, nothing tops the original soundtrack, as far as I'm concerned. It's incredible that the U.K. could have everything stay the same, except maybe part of the set and graphics, from 1998 until revisions in 2007. That's hard to fathom because so many changes can happen every two or three years. It was essentially the same for just about nine years.
We never got to hear this music in the U.K., though other countries have adopted this music. I know it has played in Russia.
I think this music is the same music they use in the first questions in Nigeria:
There's something that I really like about the Three Wise Men lifeline used on Super Millionaire in 2004, and if I recall correctly, this was also the Ask the Expert music. It seems rather upbeat for a rather intense and intimidating game with a very serious soundtrack. It reminds me of the choir singing in the $32,000 music.
Of course, the clock music has really good music as well. I think it's a very nice remix of the original soundtrack. Some tracks I like better than others. My favorite from the clock version would have to be the $500,000 question.

There's something quite intense about the 500k version which I felt the 1 million always lacked. I wonder if the UK version was able to remain unchanged for so long was as a result of it being popular for such a long time. I remember the massive hype leading up to its original broadcast and the fact that it was only on for a short run before a break.
Thanks for your response.

I do like the question bed for $500,000, but for whatever reason I seem to prefer the $250,000 bed. Maybe part of the q13 music (specifically the diminished chord that plays smack in the middle of the loop) has more of a “surreal” quality than the same part of the q14 music — it gives me chills just thinking about it.
