While googling something 'bout on the Internet, I've read somewhere that CNBC plans to revive "Deal or No Deal" in the United States with Howie Mandel as a host. At first, I've thought it's a hoax, but after I've read this on CNBC website, I think it's really going to happen. What do you think? Are you excited about it? Or not?

I find it a bit weird that they are going to air it on their Finance channel, but then again it is money related so....

I’m excited that the show is returning and that Howie is returning with it! At first glance, CNBC seems like an odd choice... but this fits with the channel’s prime time strategy and I’m all for it as long as the show’s production value isn’t impacted too dramatically.

Since it's going to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2018, I think we'll have to wait a long time, unfortunately.

I know it's a dead thread bump, but I just wanted to say that new DoND premieres December 5th, 2018. There is also a video of Howie making the announcement, which shows a part of the new set.

How about a U.S. revival of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in Primetime? I would really go for that.
Who else would like that?

Very cool! I’m looking forward to this one. Looks like they’re keeping the look and feel in the same spirit as the original.

It's always interesting to see how the show varies around the world. Here in the UK, it was future contestants who would open the boxes.

What do you think about "Miljoenenjacht", the original version of the "Deal or No Deal"? Interesting, I'd never come across this before! I naively thought DOND was another great British invention (how wrong could I be). I see they also had women opening the boxes at one stage or another. Again, I thought this was something the Americans brought in when they adapted it. What time is/was DOND shown in the US? In the UK it was around the 4pm mark. I wonder if this is the reason they toned it down. It was very successful when it launched here in 2005 but hasn't aired in a couple of years now.

The American version aired in Primetime, so from 8pm to 11pm ET, but I'm pretty sure it was 8pm.
