One thing that I wanted to see happen in Super Millionaire that never did happen was to have a contestant go into the next dimension with the 50:50, which also meant they would have the Double Dip too.
Now what I want to ask you guys is: If you were in the hot seat yourself, how would you play the money tree knowing that you technically have a guaranteed right answer in the palm of your hands? If there was a question that you had a good idea as to what it was, would you try to save the lifelines, or still take the automatic correct answer?
Me personally, unless I absolutely knew 100% what the answer was to a question, I would use both lifelines ASAP to at least get that money, and then go from there.

If I could narrow it down to two in my head with at least 90% certainty, I'd go with the Double Dip and save the 50:50.
If I was about 80-90% sure of any one answer, I'd likely guess for it, and try to save my "hat-trick" for the next question. By making this gamble on the $500,000 question, you've assured yourself $1 million if you're right. Not bad for a free guess.
If I use the 50:50, I'm using the Double Dip with it 100% of the time. No sense in trying to save it; it's a nearly worthless lifeline by itself.

Well, I believe I would do something similar like kplewisvox , but it technically depends for me how difficult the questions are and what I'm risking to lose. For example, if I played for a question above $500, 000, I would try to make the question simpler by using the 50:50 right away and follow up with the Double Dip. As kplewisvox stated earlier, this would of course result to a 100% guaranteed win. Unfortunately, this would mean that I wouldn't be able to save any lifelines when they could be useful for another question. However, if I played at $500, 000, I would use the 50:50 to decide which of the remaining two answers could possibly be correct. In conclusion, I do agree with kplewisvox, but I would play it a little bit differently.

Sitting here at home, reading this to myself, I think "I would definitely try to save both lifelines and have an automatic correct answer to a more-valuable question later in the game," but I know I would probably think a little different if I were actually to be in the game playing for real money. While I would love to say I'd take my chances and do everything I could to save the 50:50, I personally would probably use it if I had to just to ensure I get something.
Being able to save it though and end up with both lifelines at once would be an incredible strategy if you could manage to do it!

It's like you say, the most important thing is to get home with at least SOME money. I would use the lifeline combo immediately if I wasn't sure of the answer and was out of other lifelines.
