That set is beautiful! The way the lights and graphics interact is really exciting to watch, especially when the lights go down!

Classic cues! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! The set! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!
This is really, really exciting. Jeremy Clarkson is doing a tremendous job as a host - he almost gives me an Anne Robinson vibe. I'm not sure if the Ask the Host cue fits in with the rest of them, though. They should probably followed Matthew Strachan's suggestion of using the TWM cue for that.
Still, man, I hope there's some way to watch this from Germany. Can't wait for the premiere.

If the 7 episodes rate well, do you think ITV would consider bringing it back full time?

I'm almost certain this is supposed to be a "practice run", to see how well it'll do ratings-wise. They clearly put a lot of work into the production of this. I can't imagine that set was cheap - and the fact that they had a completely new one designed instead of just using the previously used design suggests they splurged on this run as well. It'd be a bit of a shame to tear it down after only one week of broadcasts!

Love this new design, curious to see how the lights will go after a £32,000 level...

Quick comparison of how the UK set has evolved over the years... Elstree 1998-2001 2001-2010 2010-2011 2011-2014 Manchester 2018- Something really noticeable when trying to dog up good screenshots - how the direction so noticeably changed in the 2011-2014 run. Seems like after the first Clock series, the Victory Television replaced 2waytraffic as the producers, hence the endless 'specials'....

Don’t know if anyone else has seen this but on the UK WWTBAM Instagram page they’ve said that they’ve made some GIFs to do with the show. After looking them up, it does show that the Ask The Host icon is actually an outline of Jeremy’s face, as seen in the Sun video. It also shows that the Phone-A-Friend icon is... slightly poor, considering that they couldn’t line it up properly, but oh well.
One thing I really hope isn’t true is how in the trailer the music sequence went: Q6 Win —> Q8 Lights Down. Personally, I can’t stand when Millionaire versions do this, it just doesn’t sound right. Here’s hoping it was an error...
Apart from that though, really looking forward to watching it tomorrow!

If the latter, it's just a muckabout press run anyway which I believe took place before the rehearsal pilot recording last Thursday, so maybe they've had things fixed up properly by this week's tapings? (Such as moving that mixing desk, will be surprised if it stays in view like that). And I agree on that Ask the Host cue, either TWM or Double Dip cues would have worked a lot better. Slight shame (from my POV anyway) that they seem to have gone fully back to the OG stuff and not used the fantastic 2008 US rework as basis. I'm also curious about the title sequence, whether it'll have one at all and if yes, what it'll be like. I'd imagine that logo animation on the LED floor screen from the trailer will come into play with the host entrance. So many questions! Looking forward to experiencing this in person and on TV this Sat. Edit: forgot to mention the graphics, that's another thing they really should have imported from the US version. They look slightly off...

I don't think they should've gone with 2008 "unclocked" cues for the normal questions. The OG themes are a large part of the identity of Millionaire, and they originated in the very country that is now celebrating its anniversary. Completely replacing all cues with remixes from an overseas adaptation would somewhat diminish the impact of the callback, in my opinion.
Take some themes from the US wherever they fit, sure. But don't completely replace all of the themes, even if they were made by the same composer. At least in my opinion.

I guess my feeling is that the US cues are very much a perfect modern update of the original themes, arguably adding more drama and a more cinematic feel, if that makes sense. I was listening to an interview with Strachan the other day, he said that he did initially provide 2waytraffic with an updated theme etc before they went with Covalo/Magnus, I wouldn't be surprised if that stuff he pitched to them in 07 was the basis for what he eventually did for the US version in 2008.

They look slightly off... Yeah, it was the Sun trailer. Hopefully you’re right and that will be fixed - if it’s supposed to be fixed that is. I’d be very, very surprised if there isn’t a title sequence as most shows in the U.K. have some sort of opening titles now, even things like the news and election results coverage (which coincidently I was up until 2am watching last night, so now I feel pretty dead lol) Whether or not it’ll be a Rave sequence with different music or something new altogether will be something we’ll have to find out tomorrow night.

Dunno If some of u have see how some lights are synchronized with the 'Q6 - Yes' cue (timecode: 3:52)...
Also during 'Q6 - Heartbeat' (starting at 0:51...), on each heartbeat, light strips on the audience wall and light pillars goes quickly brighter in the rythm of this heartbeat, plus: LCD screens (wall and floor) are also affected. (goes the same for Q7)
Lighting looks also promising...

That's rad. I'm impressed they even went to the trouble of making an exclusive clip for The Sun!
