Certainly these last two weeks have been fantastic to see "Millionaire" come back to primetime for its 10th anniversary! However, do any of you all have any suggestions of what could make primetime Millionaire even better if it is brought back for another run? Any changes to the set, music or graphics (especially for the $1 million question)?
I know from reading the comments off of Buzzerblog a lot of people don't like the timer (perhaps because Regis was uncomfortable with it the first 4 episodes). Personally if anything the timer should start after Regis finishes reading all the ANSWERS and not just the question (I've always felt that way, same for syndie). Even more so going back to revealing each answer one at a time as each one is read I think would be dramatic too! If the timer wasn't there some contestants would take forever to answer and "time is money" when it comes to the business aspect of producing television (especially a special series). Couple that the timer allows for more contestants/questions and links syndie Millionaire to primetime...the TIMER is going to stay (LOL!)
As for the celebrity guests...love them or hate them but they were TRULY something else! My favorite was Snoop Dogg but Patricia Heaton's euro to U.S. currency question freak out was truly memorable. As with all the game questions the celebrity questions were pretty nice and definitely indicative of what $50K questions look like (simplest out of the 5 hardest of the money tree!). Also allowing the celebs to use only 1 lifeline is cool too. I know the celebs take away contestant time BUT they help entice more viewers to check out the show. I mean when Millionaire debuted in 1999 it was to America's mainstream conscious! I don't blame Davies for instituting the celebs and they should stay!
