So it's been almost a year and a half since I joined the forums, at least according to my own profile, and honestly it doesn't seem like it really has been that long. As you may already know from my YouTube [channel] I've been creating WWTBAM content for some many years ranging from things such as soundboards, to flash games (spine shivers out the thought of those ), to the HTML5 based controllers that I have now.
It took some time for me to join the forums after several attempts from others in the community recommending I should from my YouTube channel. At first I was on the fence about it honestly because I was concerned about people possible abusing my creations and then it somehow coming back to bite me in the rear. Then about that time when I joined the forums here I decided to share the classic controller with the world, but that was the only controller I was going to or ever will release to the general public.
As time went on I got to thinking more and more about the begging and pleading from the YouTube channel followers about why I would never release my other content. I realized that it was pointless to develop software if no one else would ever be able to use it so I opened up more to the idea of sharing the rest of my content, but only on a much more private basis, such as the fan games area here. Also it made more since to share the content with the fan game members here since I work for a county government developing stuff for other people to use anyway. One of my greatest creations to date for doing that is the Gaston County GIS website.
So what will I be providing here for the other members you might ask? Well that would be the following:
So there you have it. I look forward to joining the ranks among the other creators here.
Note 1: This one will be a late release because I am still working getting a few things tweaked to accommodate different types of run-time blocks. These include loading phone a friend data (pictures, names, and location information) and a better countdown clock for the 15th question. Timers in JavaScript are not accurate to the second because they do not access the system clock threads like tradition desktop applications. The expert animations need to be able to accommodate users when no camera source is available. Finally getting a pretty close playback sound on the 15th question. Since I don't have the individual pieces that make up the clocked ques (or the un-clocked versions either, though I feel like I've scrummed through every corner of the internet for them), getting it to work properly with a dynamically adjustable clock (based on previous time banked) is a hassle.
Note 2: I never displayed the final soundboards I created in HTML5 on my YouTube channel to avoid beggars. They are similar to the versions I built in Java many years ago but are much more responsive and flexible in design.
