Received a call from Millionaire on Saturday.

Hi everyone. 

This seems like the most active Millionaire fan forum so I'm coming to you for answers.

I auditioned last summer and was put into the contestant pool. On Saturday, I received a call from Millionaire asking what my availability is for the rest of August to come down to Vegas for a taping. I told them I'm open for any day they want me. They said someone would be in touch very soon to let me know what day to come. 

However, now my pessimistic brain is telling me it's too good to be true and they won't end up calling me. 

My question is once I'm to this point, what are the chances I'll be on the show? Is this just another pool I'm in now or should I start packing my bags? Anyone who has been on the show have any advice or experiences to share?

Well, I really hope that you get in. If they called you, they're probably will be considering you for appearing on the show. They'll probably call you to appear on a date later in August. In other words, don't lose hope.

Congrats!!! I just passed the audition and did an on camera interview about 5 days ago still waiting to hear if I got in the pool or not!! So exciting for you! How did you find out you were in the pool? Was it in the mail? A call? Email?

Email. It was pretty quick after the audition process. Maybe only a week or so later.

If you were in the contestant pool and they're calling you, I'd guess that you're in. Especially since you said you're available any day they want you.

What they did in my case was call me and say "These are your days, are you available?" And the correct answer to that question is either "Yes I am", or "I'll clear my calendar".

I've been thinking me saying "completely open for any day you want" was a bad thing. Like they would save me for a fill-in and then never use me.

Update!

Had another call from them last night. (Strange that they call on the weekends and not during normal business hours, but whatever.) This caller asked me specifically about what I put down on my application for how I would spend my money. I put down that I'd take my wife to Europe first class since she has trouble on long plane rides in coach so she could just lay down and sleep the whole way. She asked me why I chose that. I talked about why I would like to do that then she said they are planning a themed week of playing the game for someone selfless who deserves something good to happen to them. I told her about how awesome my wife is and how she does deserve something nice. She then asked about my kids and that was it.

This time, I didn't want to be left so much in the dark so I asked her what this all means. Am I going to be on the show or am I still in a pool? She said at this point I'm still in the pool but they're seriously considering me for this season. She then asked what my schedule is like on August 25th.

So, I guess I'm still playing the waiting game but I at least have a little more information than before. I feel good that she asked about a specific day this time.

Fingers crossed! I'll update if I hear anything else from them!

UPDATE!

I'm booked as a contestant for this Saturday, the 20th! I'm driving to Vegas tomorrow. Let me know if you guys want pictures of anything or information. I'll get what I can!

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone! I'm back!

Crazy experience. Not sure if anything could have prepared me for all of the adrenaline, stress, and anxiety. I've never felt the way I did on stage. It's nuts the amount of pressure there is.

I'll let you know when I'll be on as soon as they inform me.
