Perhaps I'm stepping beyond my boundaries as a regular member here, but the behavior I've seen in the Auditions threads lately, especially when it's a new member that hasn't followed the rules, concerns me. Why do people feel like they need to overemphasize their decisions? Why do we need increasingly larger and colored NOs? They only serve to discourage the new members from ever becoming involved in the future, because it's seen as being unnecessarily hostile. So they didn't follow the rules, big deal. Give them a slap on the wrist and move on, but don't be rude to them. In the most recent auditions thread, as FinalAnswer19 pointed out, the NOs actually got larger as you scrolled down the page. I think that's unacceptable and it's certainly not welcoming. So yea, perhaps I'm stepping beyond my boundaries as a regular member here, but I think this needs to be addressed in an official capacity, because when is enough going to be enough?

I would have to agree GSK. At this forum we would like to focus our efforts on encouraging people to join and talk about Who wants to be a Millionaire and I feel that making massive NO's isn't the way we should strive to do that. Yes, just because people make mistakes... Everyone should hve the time to rectify the mistakes instead of getting shouted at. Even though with some people it is there nature to serve a commaning position and I do respect that, there needs to be a level. I especially find it ironic that a member who has practically only been here for 2 minutes is the person who types the biggest No into the keyboard.

I concur. Large fonts, overly dramatic explanations, and virtually any behavior that isn't a simple, well-reasoned vote is highly discouraged in audition threads. This kind of behavior has been escalating for a while now, and it needs to stop. Audition threads are for constructive feedback, not entertainment. Everyone who auditions, even if he/she doesn't read the rules carefully, should feel welcome here and understand that getting into the Fan Games board is an attainable goal.
If this kind of behavior continues, we're going to have to start taking disciplinary action. Let's keep Millionaire Fans fun and fair for everyone.

I swear if I was a new member auditioning for the fan games before meeting the requirements, seeing all of those red and large no's would really hurt my feelings.

I would have to agree Millionairefan64, Massive no's and quick responses in red does not help the member at all. Everyone needs to feel welcome as part of the community and I feel if people write massive no's it will upset them and possibly encourage them to not get involved

RegisFan, I hope you don't think I was too out of line in Oscar's audition. Normally I'm not quite that blunt, but I do stand by what I said in that thread, and when I do get blunt in auditions, it's for what I consider to be a good reason. If you'd rather I backed off in the future, let me know.

kplewisvox I'd just be careful when using terms like "permanently" unless the situation really justifies it. Again, the goal is to be both honest and encouraging.

I think this quote sums up the goal “A teachable spirit and a humbleness to admit your ignorance or your mistake will save you a lot of pain. However, if you're a person who knows it all, then you've got a lot of heavy-hearted experiences coming your way.” ― Ron Carpenter Jr., The Necessity of an Enemy: How the Battle You Face Is Your Best Opportunity
