So, I was on Buzzerblog recently and it's been reported that Wheel of Fortune could be losing it's ratings. Some people think that the show gets a little boring with the same thing. I think the show needs some upgrades to stay fresh. One of the ideas I think should work is a tournament. The structure should be similar to Jeopardy's with the 2-day finals and the wild card spots. I think the winner should receive $250,000 just like Jeopardy and play the bonus round with big money ($50,000 - $250,000, and the $1 Million), luxury cars (with a $25,000 bonus), and a trip around the world. Another thing they should add is the return of the Friday Finals format where the 3 highest winners of the week compete again on a Friday show. Those are a few of my ideas. What do you guys think are good ideas for WoF?

I really do agree with your ideas... Exactly what I was thinking of. Would you keep the same Host 'Bob Cisneros'?
Would you keep the graphics the same?
What are your opinions and why do you think the Wheel is losing its ratings?

I believe that the show can make major changes once in a while. Especially after their 30th season and their 3rd million dollar winner. If they can make unexpected things in every show, maybe the show can be saved.

I agree with you both especially divvy. Maybe they could bring a 'Champions edition' similar to Millionaire. Also maybe they could bring a 'Zilch winner' day where people who lost could try and retrieve cash. Cold there be a bigger emphasis on comedy with celebrites playing for charity?

I agree with everything in this topic pretty much, they really do need to change the show. There's so much heavy editing that you barely see the wheel spinning now. Remember back in the day when the wheel took so goddamn long to stop, but they would also play a 2nd round without an extra commercial to make up for it? As much as I love the show, I'm getting pretty bored of it myself.
I do think they should bring back the Friday finals format, or have a TOC.

I couldn't have phrased it better Wolf. Due to the fact that advertising is 'the money' these days they will shorten the scenes for viewing pleasure and to stop boredom but to also try and fit more programs or adverts in the schedule.
Wheel of fortune's format may need slight adjustments for this modern age.

If they did bring the finals back, I think to make it special and a prize worth going for is to increase the money on the wheel and add a Million Dollar card on the prize wheel from the get go. The Million Dollar wedge just adds another one or increases the prize by another million.

I agree Final Answer, These days unfortunately it is all about profit; It is really irratating when you are watching an interesting moment and they skip to comercials.  Also Kimarough is right, 1 Million from the start on the 'Magic' wheel would really make it more exciting! |

I'd love to see them bring back the double play space from 1995-1996! Actually, even a better idea, they should make it so that if you hold onto double play until the bonus round, you could double your bonus round win! |
