Yesterday, September 8, a game show came to an end. I'm talking about "Million Pound Drop" (in spanish: "Atrapa un Millón"). It started in 2010/2011, in primetime version, hosted by Carlos Sobera (same host as 2001 and 2005 spanish versions of WWTBAM, here is a post talking about him: regisfan.proboards.com/thread/2403/carlos-sobera-spanish-version-wwtbam/ ). The maximum prize was 1,000,000€ (25,000€x25). In cash. Then, in 2012, the daily version started. The maximum prize was 200,000€ (5,000€x50). In 2013, the primetime version ended, because of low ratings. Months later, they did a primetime special called "Atrapa dos Millones", in which the maximum prize was 2,000,000€ (50,000€x25). Months ago from today, only one couple won the maximum prize in the daily version. There was no winner in primetime version. And then, it ended. 3 and a half years of a wonderful game show that now is gone.

The Million Pound Drop was a good gameshow, however it can never even be compared to Millionaire similar to Regis with the Million Dollar Password in a way. Interesting facts you have given! However I do feel that in the UK Davina lacks the personality of a good Gameshow host, and doesn't create drama and suspence like Millionaire. Even the set isn't dramatic with the massive Red screens

Personally, I like the first set. The second one looks... cheaper, but nice nonetheless.

Personally, I like the first set. The second one looks... cheaper, but nice nonetheless. I do prefer the second set. For me, it looks more epic to watch, and also very brilliant to hurt your eyes. (sorry bad english, i'm spanish ^^') Also, in EVERY SINGLE episode, the majority of the audience was people of 60-70 years old. It happens in every single spanish game show. An example of that is the spanish version of "Who's Still Standing". I'll talk about it in a separate post.
