It's definitely not an "official" version, more like a "Folex watch" equivalent of Millionaire. The set and music are too different.

Both articles lack reliable sources. The second one has a link to a BBC article, but that's not really sufficient. The credits at the end of the video also say nothing about Celador (or 2waytraffic). I feel like the producers copied Millionaire and changed just enough details so that a lawsuit would not necessarily go in Celador's favor. Also considering that during the initial years the distributors were very strict about how local adaptations of the show had to look like (set, graphics, etc.), such a radical departure with their consent would be strange.

Thank gosh "Millionaire Millennium" isn't licensed.
But this raises some questions for me.
1. Why would Thailand not start their own (licensed) version of the show? 2. Would 2waytraffic allow something like this today?

I will attempt to answer both of your questions BENtertainment.
1. It seems that Thailand might have had an licensed version of WWTBAM eventually. According to the previously mentioned Wikipedia pages (Wikipedia is not the greatest I know), after the 16 question unlicensed format, they seemed to have done a 12 question format which might have been licensed.
2. I hope 2waytraffic have some sort of standards (not super strict) in regards to set designs and other things. The current India (Hindi) set and music is a good reason why standards do not need to be super strict.

It's always a money thing too. Why pay license fees and royalties for the music, if you can just create a similar (but of course not TOO similar, should the lawyers knock on your door) format?
I read an article (can't find it right now) a few years ago that 2waytraffic relaxed the restrictions a bit around 2007, which was when several countries changed their formats. They were probably stricter early on to create a homogenous international brand, but became more lenient later to keep it fresh and therefore relevant.

BUMP Here's the set that IMO isn't terrible, but it looks kind of weird depending how you look at. Here's Slovakia: Actually, Slovakia's Millionaire Returned in 2007 with this set:

May I add something about the Indian Version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire..... youtu.be/vvb_avsMV68?t=459It shows that the platform where the Hot Seat is put can be hidden behind the large screen and can be moved forward to the studio... What do you think of that?

I found very bad Czech unlicensed Millionaire. Contestant was playing for "thing" prizes. He had three lifelines - anything as Fifty Fifty, computer removed one incorrect answer from overall four, Ask the Audience and lifeline mostly simillar to Plus One, contestant's friend in audience could help him with answering. There was funny moment, when contestant asked for Phone a Friend and host said: ,,This posibility isn't in this show.". This part is from 2004.

Could it be an episode of the Czech version of Top Gear where a Millionaire ripoff game was a special one off 'event'?

Could it be an episode of the Czech version of Top Gear where a Millionaire ripoff game was a special one off 'event'? Nope, it was on air since 1998 to 2004 and it was really only game show. My source was ČSFD (Czechoslovak movie database) www.csfd.cz/film/344530-prima-rana/prehled/ (Czech language). In addition, Czech Republic never had its Top Gear .

Enjoyed your collection Victor, and your hilarious comment about the Czech Republic two laptop's on a coffee table. My thoughts exactly!
