Hey guys! I was watching a Vsauce video on YouTube the other day and there was a link to soundsjustlike.com, a website where you can listen to 2 songs that have somewhat the same melody. I was exploring on the site when I came across this comparison between the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Lights Down Cue and Esquivel's Turkish March! I never knew the Lights Down Cue had roots! Here is the website to the comparison: soundsjustlike.com/who-wants-to-be-a-millionaire-lets-play-sounds-like-esquivels-turkish-march/The part in Turkish March where it sounds like the Lights Down Cue begins shortly after the very beginning of the song. The Lights Down Cue seems to be the Question 9 and 14 Lights Down Cue. Zachary wwtbamfan

You know, I've been listening to that song for a while now and never actually thought of it like that before.

Yes, the two songs are clearly similar. However, I think it's most likely just a coincidence.

I agree with Regisfan. I read somewhere that Keith and Matthew Strachan did listen to a song or album for inspiration.

Back when I was looking for the rave mixes. I came across a website, kind of like a wikipedia page, and A section of the page was talking about the music. It even explained how to make the Times Up sound. If I come across it again, I'll post it here. -edit. Well I found the site I was talking about but it didn't say what song. It could have been an interview with either Matthew or Keith www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Who_Wants_to_be_a_Millionaire%3F

Just a side note, the original music (by Pete Waterman) sounded terrible. I don't know how many of you have heard it but I'm SO glad they changed it. If they hadn't, I honestly believe the show wouldn't be what it was at it's peak.
I can't recall where I heard the short snippet of the original music but I'll keep thinking on it and post it when I do find it. All I've ever heard of it was less than 10 seconds and I could just tell it was simply horrible!

There's an alternative intro on www.tncmusic.nl/ but I think Ramon Covalo composed that one. Covalo created the Rave Millionaire questions beds and the Hotseat cues. Can't say that I'm a fan of his work.

I would love to hear it just based on its historical value, so I'm definitely looking forward to when - and if - you find it.
