In my city, the local top 40 station airs a syndicated morning show Mondays-Fridays and they do this segment called "Celebrity Who Said That?" I'm not going to explain the whole game, but basically they play a clip of a celebrity and the caller battles with two of the three personalities on air to guess the celebrity. ANYWAY, they play a game show theme at the beginning of this segment every time they play the game. Take a listen and let me know if you figure it out in the few seconds they do play. I've searched through my library, but I can't find it. Maybe someone here knows. The link to the podcast is here: media.ccomrcdn.com/media/station_content/163/WHO_SAID_THAT_8-29-12_1346251341_29463.mp3

It sounds familiar, but I don't think it's from a game show. Sounds like an actual song, but I can't figure out the name. Have you tried Shazamming it?

Not yet. Will the few seconds of just music in that clip be enough for it to identify the music?

I know I've heard that song a thousand times, but I can't place exactly where it's from. I don't actually think it's a game show theme. I'm fairly certain it's just one of those songs in the public domain that gets used over and over again, but I could be very wrong about that. Let me think about this one and get back to you. I'm sure somebody here will be able to recall something that song was used for.

It is called "Spanish Flea", which is not the main theme for the Dating Game, but was used as a contestant cue, and was recorded by the same group: Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mML2fPec7xU

Thanks so much kplewisvox! It's been bugging me ever since they started using that music!
And, thanks thorklein, I didn't realize you were talking about a contestant bumper and not the main theme - my apologies.
