Millionaire Checks

OK, I've chatted with lots of Millionaire fans, and they tell me that the checks that contestants receive from Regis and/or Meredith, are NOT real.

So, I pose the question, even though they're given the check the moment they exit the Hot Seat, are the checks real or not?

The checks are not real, Regis/Meredith has said that on the air before.

And it is given to you in chunks over a period of several years.

Regis/Meredith has said the checks aren't real? Hmm, never heard that.

I see them pull out the checks, but I've never heard them say that the checks aren't real.

Once in a while, when the contestant asks to keep the check, the host will say:
Go ahead, it's not real anyway.

How financially foolish if syndie's checks were to be actual checks given out the minute the millionaire hopeful gets into the hot seat.

The checks on the US show are fake, since I saw the real $1 million check when John Carpenter came on Regis' other show to claim the prize.

But the ones in the UK are quite real, from what I can tell...

But I do miss the "check tempt". That's one aspect that really felt. You answer an upper tier question right, and boom, the check for that amount appears.
