Nintendo Power says that Millionaire for Wii and DS is coming out Oct. 10, but some websites I've checked say it will be released on the 5th. What is the official release date?

Yes, it is October 5th. I preordered it on Amazon.com, and that is the date that they are showing. Walmart, as well, is showing October 5th as the official release date. Hope this helps!

I'm getting very excited for the release of this, it should be quite exciting to see how the Wii version does, and I do believe it will be released on the 5th too.

I'm still operating under the assumption that October 5th is the release date. Keep in mind, though, that the PC release was extremely strange. This is not a high profile release, so you may not find it on the shelf on October 5, even if it is technically supposed to be out.
Good luck, everybody. I'm crossing my fingers for a smooth release.

Man, I wish there would've been a PS3 and/or PSP version of this. On-the-go Millionaire is exactly what I've been looking for... unfortunately only UK has gotten a PSP Millionaire game.

Well, there is a DS version. I take it you don't have a DS, though.
I'm expecting a PS3 port, to be released on the Playstation Network as a downloadable title after the Wii version has been on the market for a while. It wouldn't be the first Ludia title to get that treatment. I understand that the PS3 releases usually have some bugs fixed, too.

I have a DS Lite, but I haven't been able to find it for two years (lost it around the time I moved into my current home).

It did release today. Check your local Best Buy score. It's just as craptastic as the PC version, unfortunately.

Sadly, yes, the game is not that great. The graphics are good that involve the questions, but the gameplay is not very realistic. You cannot interact with the host, for one, and second, the music/sound cues are way off, especially on the first five questions. What also makes me mad is they simply left out the sound cues for the lifelines altogether. Anway, it's still nice to see a game for Millioinaire out there, I just wish they would take more time to get it as close to the real thing as possible.

Yeah, I'm not as impressed with the new Wii game either, it seems like they've tried to make a generic version of the game. I was hoping it would be based on the NEW format of the US show. ...but I'll still be playing it

So whoever owns both, do you prefer the Wii game or the PC game?
