I hate suspense. Also, I'm moving next month, so hopefully my new location will have a station that carries WWTBAM (then again, my current stations don't even carry it anymore, the one that used to got rid of it in favor of "Dr. Oz"). This also means that if I can get my software out by the end of August I'll go like 2 or 3 weeks and then it will already be obsolete.

I'm comfortable with the setup we use now. If I had to guess straight away based on what little info is available, I'd say they are switching to the new UK format with a 12 level money tree and a clock on the first 7 questions only. They say new lifelines, and the only one I can see them throwing in there now would be Switch the Question. It's not something I'd like to see, but it wouldn't surprise me. I can hope for the best tho and that they go in a completely different direction! Our format was pretty unique and I enjoyed it.

So they ARE bringing in the 12-question thing after all!!!! This is the worst tip-off yet!

Okay... Millionaire is now getting desperate for millionaires, really if they want a millionaire they should just make easier questions like in the Primetime version. I seriously doubt they would put Switch-the-question cause they did mention a "Brand-new Lifeline" probably something similar to 50:50 or Ask-a-Audience-Member. I agree with everyone else, "Fast-Track to One Million" is coming to the US! And about that clock maybe they would bump up a couple more seconds or get rid of it for the higher tier questions. All will be revealed on September 13.

There would probably be new music too for the 12 question format.

More changes? Millionaire has been all about change these past few seasons, with the clock, the categories, the 2 new lifelines, and then the new money tree and the removal of Phone a Friend.
But I'm glad to hear that they're adding another new lifeline. With the removal of Phone a Friend, the lifelines just seem to go more quickly, leaving contestants without help sooner. And with the difficulty of the questions these days, contestants are going to need all the help they can get.
What a coincidence that the money tree is going to be shorter! I recently did a poll on whether it would be good for the U.S. Millionaire to adopt the UK's 12-question format. All who replied to the poll said "no." Kind of an ironic thing, too. But I do agree with the people here who say that if the show is really desperate for millionaires, just make the questions easier! Some of them are so hard, even ridiculous (like that one question that asked how many social security no.'s have been issued in the U.S. since the first one was issued - who's gonna know that?). But, hopefully the shorter money tree will bring in more big winners.
As for changes to the clock, I hope we do see some changes. 45 seconds for the last set of questions (besides the million) is just not enough time to think. Especially with so much money on the line, players should be given more time. I agree with millionaire1999, that it would be a good idea to just get rid of the clock at the higher questions.
With more changes in store yet again for Millionaire, I can't wait to see what Season 9 will be like. One thing is for sure.....they'll have to make a new Millionaire mobile game and iPhone game to reflect the changes.

I think the "Fast-track to One million" tree is good for the US cause this will mean less questions, and more contestants can be in the hot seat. And it will be much more quicker with the assistance of the clock but at least make the first two questions 20 seconds, the next five 40 seconds, and the last five no time limit, or at least 60 seconds. Now here's what I won't like, the question music! The rave-remix sounds cool especially with the opening, lets play and ending but really the question music is pretty much misc. sounds and wind and really in a dark studio with that music playing would make you pay more attention to the chills running down your spine rather than the question. If they're gonna make changes they should at least make good musical changes and add more precious time to the clock.

Well that's what they mean by 'Shorter money tree', isn't it! 12 questions is the only way!

Well that's what they mean by 'Shorter money tree', isn't it! 12 questions is the only way! Really?? The only way?? There's no possibility it could be a 13 question tree?? All I'm saying is, we can all assume but we shouldn't state anything as fact until we have more information.
