Wow, that's big news. One of the world's most popular versions of the game returns! That's always good to hear.

Apparently (according to the Ch 4 Website), this episode was shown in mid January 2010? It's not available on their catchup service either.

I was just watching promos of it on YouTube, the new graphics look good! Almost like a UK version of the old US clock graphics, with the glint and everything. -------------------------- And here is an old episode (Season 3 Finale) which I enjoyed. They speak so quickly - but it's good - I was actually feeling excitement with his fast paced talking. I also like how it's well adapted for English speakers, with English graphics with Indian/English spoken words. Oh, and also, there is a good view of his host screen at around 1:54

How come they stopped after they won Rs. 50,00,000? Oh yes, it was the season final. I didn't realise.

Hey, here is a new promo.
It features a boy asking his father a question, which the father doesn't know the answer to. The boy's father makes a joke of it, while the boy keeps on asking for the answer. Eventually, the father is asked the exact same question on the show, and looks nervously at his son.
It shows a possible variation of the UK 2007 cues, with louder heartbeats and some different layers. Lighting looks interesting too.
Enjoy!

www.setindia.com/show_details.php?sid=53Series is starting on Monday, 9pm (I guess India time) If you are in the UK and have satellite, Sony TV is broadcasted unscrambled right now! Let's hope it stays like that until monday so I can record the show, since it looks like it's only temporary. Also, we had 16 questions, 15 questions, 14 questions, 12 questions, 11 questions... now we can say there is a version with 13 questions! Here's the money tree for KBC4 : 1. question • R5,000 2. question • R10,000 3. question • R20,000 4. question • R40,000 5. question • R80,000 6. question • R160,000 7. question • R320,000 8. question • R640,000 9. question • R1,250,000 10. question • R2,500,000 11. question • R5,000,000 12. question • R10,000,000 13. question • R50,000,000 About of the lifelines set, they're going austrian-like : The three original ones, plus Double Dip. Edit : Sky's website lists it at 9pm UK time. And Sony TV is free until October 28th : Good news...

Okay, after the first half hour, in which there were no questions asked except for FFF, here's the thing :
- Show length stretched as hell, Indian style. - UK music, sometimes used weirdly (ask the audience question before FFF, Q3 music after that, for 2 seconds and just after, replaced by the right cue.) Or maybe it's editing magic. - Graphics : A complete mix of UK and US styles. They're using US style for questions, contestant's name straps especially. I think we're getting UK style for everything else... but I haven't seen the money tree yet.
Right after the break... and the infos I've seen weren't exact... No 13th question for 5 Crore, and 4 lifelines : Ask the Audience, Phone a Friend, and 50:50 gets replaced by Ask the Expert. Finally, Double Dip gets available after... well, I don't actually know why it was introduced after all the other ones.
UK style for the money tree and the titles, US style for the lifeline's logos.
30 seconds for questions 1 and 2, without any "ticking" music in the background. 45 seconds for questions 3-7, with a really basic ticking music added to the rave cue.
Q5, First time I'm seeing this : They played an audio clip in the studio, and the contestant was asked basically "Who's singing?"

ljouvin - there is a 13th question for 5 crore - but it doesn't show on the money tree until after Q7 is answered correctly. Did you notice that the Q8 music is the same as the Q7 music, to compensate for the extra question. Haven't seen what happens after Q8, or the double dip/PAF, as the contestant bombed out then.
Basically, it takes elements of the UK, US and AU version.
UK: Question clock graphic on backdrop screen, rave remix music US: Question graphics, on-screen clock graphics, ask the expert AU: Bonus 13th (16th in the old format) question, worth 5x old top prize. Also, there is one cue from Hot Seat that was played randomly.
It mounds them all together, although I didn't feel it flowed really smoothly. As ljouvin mentioned, random cues were played at random moments, the clock/lifeline animations were sluggish on the backdrop screen, the clock ticking didn't really go with the background music and no special cues for Ask the Expert.
Otherwise, a very good format - another step towards the "perfect format" in my opinion.
