Jeremy is certainly in a sticky situation. The words that he used to express himself are indefensible. I’m glad that he has apologized, and we will see if that apology is enough to save his job at ITV. He is a brilliant Millionaire host and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed his run on the show, but we shouldn’t be surprised if ITV decides to cut ties after this. Time will tell.

------------- I want to say that this is my very first post on this kind of thread. -------------
I would like to do a small videoscopy (a kind of television diagnosis) I just saw the story not too long ago via the French newspapers I think (or maybe it was one of you who announced this story on Clarkson), and I have two comments.
If ITV keeps the host who is a little turbulent verbally but who is funny with his deep voice that we know from Top Gear. You will have woke and progressive people who will shout at the scandals "ITV keeps a racist presenter, what a shame". But if ITV fires the host, there will be people who will complain, shouting "we can no longer criticize Meghan Markle, we have the right to criticize the one who thinks she is the diva!!!"
Now if we have this second solution: who will replace/succeed Jeremy Clarkson??
From my point of view, I don't see any new British animators who can take up the flame of the game (especially for its 25 years anyway).
And I definitely think Clarkson will keep his place, and I'm sure ITV will try to force him out of the chair.

Because maybe we're predictable, don't you think ?

It is at least good to see Clarkson finally apologised, since such words don't set forth any decent example as a role model. As many of us know, it's certainly not the first time he's been in the headlines for something controversial, so this is only the latest incident. For those of us who wish to see him continue as host, hopefully there can be forgiveness by ITV and other production companies he works for. Perhaps he genuinely knows what he said was a big blunder, and realises his immediate TV career is now in jeopardy. For that there is no one else responsible except himself. Personally I do believe for his Millionaire hosting duties, Clarkson has done better than I initially expected. Incomparable to Chris Tarrant, but he has found his own style which fits the essence of WWTBAM in a uniquely entertaining way. Arriving with massive shoes to fill, I feel he has admirably shaped the role into his own. However, reaching such stature doesn't make one immune to making wrong moves, and there are still moral standards which surely should apply to anyone. So for us fans who believe he's an asset to the show, the hope remains that he retains his position beyond the upcoming new series. The same also applies for his other programmes on Amazon. I believe if anything, action from now is more suitable at the tabloid level for an internal investigation on their part. My view is it shouldn't have been published for such words which have potential to cause national uproar and encourage hatred. That could've easily been stopped before making any headline news, and then to be dealt with internally. We know the media often make their own rules though, so it's no real surprise otherwise. So one can hope for the best outcome from this point, but otherwise it would only be a resulting domino effect.

Almost 5 years ago when I learned that the host of Top Gear was going to succeed Chris Tarrant, I had laughed and surprised because I had known not so long ago his show which was in France on a TNT channel. And I saw his first episodes as a host of WWTBAM GB and at the end of the day, he has a style that I like and his valve concerning the parking lot marked me well. Frankly it will be disappointing if he is written off by ITV. I don't see any who will succeed Clarkson well.

Jeremy Clarkson will continue hosting Millionaire. New episodes are going to be recorded next month.

Right, but his current contract is up after the next series. What we’ve yet to see is if recent events have impacted his chances of renewing that contract.

It doesn't mean anything, a TV channel can put a blame at any time. In France, we are well placed to talk about it, especially in recent years.
A small example: a host tells a joke in another TV channel and that this joke is bad, the boss of the channel on which he worked fired him two weeks after his bad valve

Remember how many strikes it took for him to get sacked from Top Gear? Jeremy’s one of those rare talents that glues viewers to the TV, despite controversies, so I’m pretty sure ITV won’t cut ties with him.

Ah there you just talked about the fact that he was fired from Top Gear, it's a bad point for him haha. In truth I saw this story from the forum made by the fans, I am hallucinated that even that, BBC did not take it up. What a public service. Anyway, hoping Clarkson doesn't lose his spot as host, especially for this year for WWTBAM.
Ah and I wanted to say something: Jeremy Clarkson, it's not a question of talent that he is, he is above all a guy who wears his... that is to say that basically, he is not cold in the eyes, he says what he thinks. And no one will stop it

Anyway, hoping Clarkson doesn't lose his spot as host, especially for this year for WWTBAM. I suppose one thing on that front is the Top Gear incident was a physical "fracas" with a producer who worked on the show. To be fired as a direct result was no real surprise, seeing as it came down to a violation of acceptable conduct in his workplace (at the BBC). While on this occasion, the controversy are unwelcome words published in a newspaper Clarkson writes a column for. Both very different set of circumstances, even though such actions are equally unacceptable in a negative form. As fans of Millionaire, we can certainly hope for the best from that point of view. It'll ultimately come down to what's decided by the big bosses.
