There was a (now dead) thread similar to this for the U.S. format. I won't post a link to it unless you're really, really curious.
Now I'm curious, for any British fans of the show, or any fans of the show in general from the UK, which £1m winner was your favorite to watch? Factors can include their personality, what lifelines they used on certain questions, how they played certain questions, or whatever else you can think of.
For example, I thought Ingram Wilcox was the most entertaining to watch. To me, his reactions to some of his higher level questions were priceless.

Judith, only because she was first. I did like Ingram though.

I also thoroughly enjoyed watching Pat Gibson play his £1m question, the answer to which I frankly should've known, but I digress.
So when Pat Gibson played his £1m question, the 50/50 and the Phone a Friend still intact, similar to Bob House's case, I speculate that the producers told Pat to use both his lifelines on the final question. Indeed, we were far past the age of winning the million like a boss (see: Carpenter) even in 2004, and unless you really really wanted to show off, there was really no point in saving those lifelines. His wife presumably didn't have a clue, and I think him taking the 50/50 made her feel better that she guessed wrong. Also, one has got to be curious to see what his friend thinks the answer is, even if he turns out to have no idea, so had Pat saved his lifelines and presumably still won the million, it would nag him forever. Sure, his Phone a Friend could tell him later that he'd have known the answer, but there's nothing like getting a second confirmation while you're still playing the question. Gotta hand it to Pat for playing the smart way.

Judith. She created history and proved that it could be done...it was only done another four times.

Judith. She created history and proved that it could be done...it was only done another four times. "Oh, bless you, Jilly!" Ingram Wilcox was the last to do it. I don't even know if anyone after him got up to £500,000. All I know is that the producers followed in the U.S. version's footsteps and made it so that nobody could win again, ever. The more I think about it, I notice the first five questions are usually much harder than they were before at their respective levels. I thought a £20,000 question asked in 2013 or so about Margaret Thatcher's hairdresser was unfairly valued and should've been at least £75,000.
