{Spoility Spoiler} Just saw the win in a video that Channel 9 posted in their FB page. Glad he won! But again I see the same error that the Spanish Who's Still Standing has: no confetti. Why no dropping confetti if it's a win? Budget, maybe.
Anyways, I like the format. I don't want it to end. But if somebody wins, it will end. In the Spanish Hot Seat, somebody won the top prize. A month after that, it was cancelled.

Anyways, I like the format. I don't want it to end. But if somebody wins, it will end. In the Spanish Hot Seat, somebody won the top prize. A month after that, it was cancelled. There was confetti. The cannons just went off relatively late. And do you really think a show that gives away a million dollars would save on confetti for financial reasons? That's like saying we should stop using more than one toothpick a week to end the financial crisis. And the show isn't automatically canceled when somebody wins the top prize. It can be the final straw, yes, because the show should at least perform well when the ultimate goal is reached, and if it doesn't, there's no point to continue. If the ratings are good, it's mostly irrelevant if somebody wins the million or not. I've watched a couple of episodes of "El Millonario", and it was just boring. That's what brought it down, not the top prize winner.

To show how the ratings are going, here is what happened last week.
OzTAM (the guys officially in charge of working out the TV ratings in Australia for each TV show) do what is called "5 City Metro (aggregate figure)" The 5 cities refer to the main 5 cities in Australia. Those are Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth.
These 5 individual city's ratings add up for a total figure for each show.
Now you know how the ratings work in Australia, here is a direct side by side comparison between Hot Seat and The Chase Australia.
Monday 22nd August The Chase Australia. 15th out of 20th highest rated program all day 209,000 in Sydney, 222,000 in Melbourne, 128,000 in Brisbane, 75,000 in Adelaide, 85,000 in Perth. Grand total = 719,000 people.
Hot Seat. 20th of 20th highest rated program all day. 191,000 in Sydney, 188,000 in Melbourne, 134,000 in Brisbane, 46,000 in Adelaide, 46,000 in Perth. Grand total = 605,000 people.
The Chase Australia won the night overall by 114,000 people.

The Chase Australia won the night by 104,000 people.
Friday 26th August (typically a low rating day because everyone's thinking of the weekend) The Chase Australia. 7th out of 20th in highest rated programs all day. 178,000 in Sydney, 184,000 in Melbourne, 89,000 in Brisbane, 65,000 in Adelaide, 79,000 in Perth. Grand total = 596,000 people.

The Chase Australia (despite being a repeat on Fridays) won the night 79,000 people.
I got these ratings from tvtonight.com.au. They use the official figures from OzTAM.
Once I get a chance, I will do a side by side comparison on tonight's ratings. Need to wait for some point tomorrow.

If anyone is interested in seeing the entire game, a person by the name of AKKASTUDIOS on YouTube have been uploading almost all of "Millionaire: Hot Seat" and "The Chase: Australia". He just now finished uploading this episode.
Here it is if you'd like to see it.

But what are the color of the sets in Millionaire Hot Seat? Are they the same as it appears on the money tree?

I am a little sad that they didn't use a full width graphic with the word MILLIONAIRE like was done on classic Millionaire

I feel the colour choice for the set during the $1,000,000 question segment was a bit weird. I feel that dark blue or even pitch black would have been better options.

So yesterday's episode beat The Chase in the ratings (749,000 vs. 647,000). Good for them. It might save the show for the time being, provided they can retain some of the viewers.

Gagamillionaire, you better watch your words because Millionaire Hot Seat has some tricks to beat The Chase Australia in the ratings war.
