Wow, it's been seven years and you're still working on your impressive WWTBAM project. And over those seven years, WWTBAM has made many changes, including graphics. So, if you can, I hope you can put all those graphics into your project, like all the formats and lifelines you put into this project.

Right now, the plan is to leave "Millionaire: Hot Seat" behind as that started to become a thing WAY after I originally started work on this. If I can get a hand on host/contestant screen grabs of the Hotseat game, I'll think about it. Also the late Neo-Modern format of US Millionaire (Harrison's last season) is also off the table for now and will likely see me come back for that one in a later update. All lifelines (from Fifty/Fifty through Ask The Host) will be involved. (Even US Shuffle's Crystal Ball.)

I have a question. Can we make/upload our own textures/packs in the soft?

I plan on making the "official" and close to screen accurate ones first. That will encompass all of the work for V1. At some point, I will endeavor on allowing the use of custom PNGs similar to the STRFormat software I use on the interim. On the flip side, custom fonts, lozenge designs, and lifeline icons... sure. But not until (at minimum) version two. As for custom animations, that's likely NOT going to happen as that is well outside of the purview of what I had in mind for the software.

It's been a while. A lot of progress has been made on the software. I took a pause on mechanics, to work on graphics. Since each host screen has to support ALL versions of the show (ie. Classic needs to shuffle, Shuffle USA needs to support Classic, etc.) You may see some elements not "natural" to the original screen. I'm taking huge amounts of liberties with the screens. (So word to the wise, if you're gonna tell me "oh that was on the actual screen", go kick rocks.) (Also sorry for the annoying watermark, but last time I posted up on here, some had the fortitude to copy/paste my image and try to ask for assistance in duplicating it. Good times... That should also serve as a testament to how long I've been working on this.) More stuff to come, I'm probably going to come back and ask for assistance on lozenge making. (I would love to be able to create lozenges in this program by code, but for now, I'm stuck importing images.) I'll be back tomorrow to give a more in-depth overview to the controller aspect. I am really looking forward to the final release! So far, it is looking good!

Honestly i have a suggestion for that software and that's Olga music I think they let you insert your own music into the game, but I believe he would have a couple of sets of music built in for the final release if I'm thinking about it correctly.

retched, my computer is on 1920x1080 resolution.
That helps. It's about what my screen uses now. Just need to know if people are using these sized screens or if there's people using the older ones. I also need to figure out then will I expand the size of the controller.
I am referencing to a post made a long time ago. I have a display that is on 3840 x 2160 resolution and I was having trouble getting Strformat's WWTBAM Controller to work with this resolution. I just hope that this controller can support all resolutions.

Oh yeah, will definitely be able to support 2160 resolution. Effectively, the game is going to be drawn up using the Unity engine. So long as the Unity engine can play on a resolution (i.e., you can play games at that resolution) with no problem, there shouldn't be any problem with the game. It should upscale on its own. (Things may get wonky when you downscale to like 144p or 480p though.

Currently the plan for this software is that it will be available for free with donations being an option but more on that when it comes to release.

I understand that he hasn’t got back with anything in a while. But I must remind you that we only post to contribute to the thread. We do not post asking when the project will be released. It’s just unnecessary and a sign of impatience. We all want to know too, but we must not disturb Retched from doing his work.

Additionally coming into my DMs asking if there's an update or if there's a download available is always frowned upon. HOWEVER, while I'm here. Let's do an update. Major Revamp #(I lost count at this point)I'll do better with the version numbering. But let's call this version 0.2 that I'm currently working on with 0.1 being what I put out before for testing. And once again for the visually impaired: PLEASE DO NOT DM ME ASKING FOR DOWNLOADS I don't know why people think this is the best way to get stuff... and then ask, why is everything held behind the Fan Games center?! This is why! I'm going to release this version to everyone but at the same time, good grief... maybe I shouldn't! Please stop this. I hate coming back here to see this thread bumped with the sole purpose of asking either "where can I download it" or "are there any updates?" Kindly note: If there are any updates, I'll be the first to post them here in this thread. Want to see updates before that? Check out the Twitch stream when I make "Software and Game Development" the category. 99% if you see that category on my Twitch, I'm musing over the source to this very program. (This includes a few of y'all who reached out to me on my personal Facebook for this! Seriously, STOP. It's not my fault some of y'all reached WAAAAAYYYYYY too hard and made promises for a Millionaire presentation that "all of a sudden" my program can fill... STOP IT. Get software first!!! Then make promises of presentation. STRFormat is still a thing! So is the SourceForge!) That aside: there were a lot of major changes that I have been working on in the background. Most of which has cost me a LOT of time and pain as I have to do a redo a lot. But hopefully it'll make it worth it in the long run. Let's start from scratch, which is a running theme of this whole update... - Microsoft Access (.mdb) has been removed, the database has been replaced with SQLite (.db).
During the initial beta (or was that alpha?) many moons ago, I noticed that many people had problems running the Microsoft Office Database runtimes that original supported the databases for questions and so on. (I had to do a weird dual installation myself since my Office install was 64-bit but I needed the 32-bit runtimes... it was cumbersome and tedious.) So after a bit of research and light testing with the opening of the interface windows... All databases have been switched to SQLite instead. There is no separate installation needed. In fact, on compile, the program will neatly move all the necessary .DLLs into a separate "bin" folder. (Thank you StackOverflow!) So if you installed the Database runtimes, and you ONLY installed them to run my program. Safely get rid of those. Takes me to... - The program will now be able to support x86 and x64 architectures with very little need to switch anything.
Moving over to SQLite kind of fixed one of the troubling questions I had with regards to distribution, how to handle anyone still running a 32-bit install. The software SHOULD (*knock on wood*) be able to run on either system. Right now that means Windows, but I'll still try to make a Mac-friendly build too. (The main controller is built on .NET Forms. I tried to switch to .NET Core, and I'll likely try it again, but it was TOO much of a headache to make that switch on Visual Basic. So for right now, it is still .NET Framework 4.) At some point, I'm going to move into .NET (sans Framework, it's just called .NET now) (which will effectively kill off all Windows before 7.) - Unity will still be the game's graphics engine.
So tldr but, during September of this year, Unity Inc. made a change to their licensing structure in order to cash in on the multi-billion dollar "free-to-play" or "freemium" games that come out using it as well as others. (I mean recent Pokemon games and even Hearthstone were made using Unity... so I can see how they would want their cut...) And that caused a giant storm of problems. While they walked it back, mostly, they still ruined a lot of projects for a lot of people. Right now, I'm not changing the game engine away from Unity. Some have mentioned using Godot Engine, which I do have installed, but I'm going to keep to Unity for right now. (Even under the new changes... it would take a LOT for a little game show presenter software like mine to even cause me to have to register and upgrade to the higher tiers.) - The entire program was GUTTED, hence the delay...
As I implied above, I have scraped out a bunch of the logic from the program (for now) while I rebuild. One of the main things that was done was trying to implement Hotseat ALONGSIDE Classic gameplay. It's just a giant game of storing variables and then disseminating them going forward. Additionally removing things like player databases, phone a friend setup (will return in future version), as well "reinventing" the wheel making two separate interfaces for both Classic (which also includes Clock and Shuffle) and Hotseat modes. (Going to just make this single player versus multiplayer. Maybe at some point I'll look into running the - New side functionality: implementing "Hackbox" (aka Fake Jackbox)
This is a side project but relates back to the main in a roundabout way. When visiting any of the studios of Millionaire, all of the audience members would be given some sort of audience taker for the Ask The Audience Poll. Unfortunately, these actual devices can cost anywhere from hundreds to actual thousands for a full blown system. (Don't get me started on the tablet system for the newer Fastest Finger (First).) I'm going to try to implement the same technology behind the Jackbox games (using an implementation of "Hackbox" by a Twitch Streamer I found who also makes game show presenters) and their participation games and let people use their phones/computers as either the ATA or FFF answer taker. This will likely be a backseat to the main presenter. The idea being, via in-app console or via web console, you will be able to request and collect the results for the FFF or ATA games. There will also be some sort of Twitch and Kick (via their APIs) as well. - Removed all audio testing functions from the main screen
Dropping all the audio functions minus the test functions of the playlist/sound board builder. I might have to rebuild this one too as there are a LOT of knick-knack audios that I have to classify in "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?".
And that is the big update. I'll be back when I'm ready with the second alpha test of the controller. And again... PLEASE DO NOT DM ME ASKING FOR DOWNLOADS

Also not to sound completely mean, if you have questions or suggestions about the project... BY ALL MEANS feel free to bump this thread! I love actual conversation and feedback! Just please, do NOT bump this thread solely for the purpose of "Can I get a download?" or "Where can I download it?"
To answer those questions concisely: There WAS a version released that was a dry run attempt at the main controller window. This was done to get "fresh eyes" on the whole thing to see if there was anything that I might have missed or did not plan for in that build. To all those who provided feedback during that run, THANK YOU! It has been immensely helpful.
There were no graphics available for that version either... this was just a test of the main window and basic functionality. That demo is now dead and removed and that particular version is lost to the ether, never to return. You are not missing out anything. Believe me!
Another dry run of the controller module will be released when I'm closing in on being "done" with the "mechanical" controller. Once I'm done with the mechanical controller, and "feature creep" doesn't bite me in the backside... I'll start working on the Unity Controller (aka the presenter) and then finally the Hackbox, Twitch, and Kick implementations. I know I've been working on this for (almost) a decade at this point... but I ask that y'all be patient.
So in summary:
- Mechanical controller: The Visual Basic.NET build. This is effectively acting as a giant remote of the presentations. To conflate it to the SourceForge, this is replacing the keyboard input. - The Unity Controller: This is a Unity/C# project that will ultimately be responsible for displaying the graphics. Work will also be attempted to make the Unity project transparent for overlay purposes into something like Open Broadcaster Software or StreamLabs Desktop and other softwares. The Mechanical controller will effectively be a remote to this. - "Hackbox". This is another streamers implementation of the popular Jackbox style games. They currently have a presentation of "All Clued up" (or Million Dollar Chance of a Lifetime here in the states) which uses an implementation of this. My goal is to make this run a website that will operate as both the FFF and ATA clickers. - Twitch/Kick/YouTube: This is effectively a chatbot that will read up and count the votes of the chat. But there is a 99.9% I may make a guide for another Chat bot instead of making one from scratch.
