YOU'RE RIGHT! For $10,000!!! *Q4 win cue plays* *background turns to blue* Nobody would forget those 8 Olympic gold medals won by this man in 2008 Beijing Olympics... You've got $10,000. You've still got 3 lifelines and you have to answer only 8 questions to win this million. Here's question #5, which is worth $12,500:

Now I've played pinball, but I'm curious as to what this "loud knock" refers to. On what kinds of machines did this happen, and do they still happen on pinball machines today? Because a loud knock could mean anything to different people--are you talking about the noise the ball makes when it bounces off a flipper? Are you talking about the noise when the ball is put into place before the launch?
I'm not trying to be difficult, I want to make sure I know exactly what you're asking before I decide what I'm going to do. Do you have any info on your host screen that you can share?

OK, I can share the information that I've got earlier today:
"The loud knock is a sound heard on every machine and is purposely made by the machine using a device called a "knocker" (some machines replace this device by playing a recording of the knocker through the speakers). This sound is much louder than the sound made when the ball hits something, and has sometimes scared players on occasions due to it's volume."

That was helpful, thanks. I can safely say I've probably never heard the sound before, so let's Ask the Audience, please.

Alright, you chose to Ask The Audience. Audience, woowho really needs your help. *ATA Begin cue plays* I'm going to read th question again: In pinball, a loud knock singnifies what? A: Tilt B: Extra Ball C: Free Game D: High Score On your keypads, please vote now. *ATA voting cue plays* Well, over a half of the audience say it's a Tilt, 32% say that symbolizes an extra ball. There's a definite lead in there, but you don't have to go along with the majority and you've still got a 50:50 and Phone-A-Friend.

Yuck.
You know, when the choices first came up, I had almost completely ruled out Tilt, and was actually thinking Free Game--I mean, think about it, when the game's finished, your first reaction is to walk away from the machine, but then they'd probably need some kind of mechanism to call you back to it, to let you know, "hey, you can play again for free, you know."
What little pinball I've played (or seen played) I don't remember any special sound for an extra ball or a high score--at least not one that sounded like a loud knock--and I've never tilted a machine before. They might sound a knock for, like, a "put me down" kind of sound, if you get what I'm saying...but I remember the Microsoft Pinball computer game--you know, the one that sometimes came with a new computer--and when I tilted THAT machine all it said was "Careful..." without any sound.
Y'know, the more I think about it, the more I actually like that reasoning instead.
So...oh jeez, I can't believe I'm doing this...and this is only question four! But I actually have a good deal of reasoning to believe the audience is wrong.
I want to save my lifelines for the higher questions, but...do I pull another one out now...
...
...
...
...screw it, I'm doing it. C, Free Game, final.

Well, you had $10,000... and you went totally against the audience... only 7% for your final answer... I'm going to tell you right now that 55% of the audience who voted for A: Tilt, is wrong. If you would've said B: Extra Ball, which 32% of the audience went for it... You would've been wrong. So far, 87% of the audience missed out on this question. You, woowho and the audience are not gonna believe this, but... the answer is...
C: FREE GAME!!!!! *Q5 win cue plays* *background turns to blue* Wow... I can't believe that only 7% of the audience voted for the correct answer. And I don't know why I'm getting too enthusiastic about this... Anyway... here's the situation that we're at right now: You've no longer got the Ask The Audience lifeline, but you've still got two lifelines intact... You're just seven questions away from a million and if you get the next question wrong, you drop back to $5,000. Please, be very careful about that, OK? Here we go. This is question number 6, which is worth $25,000: Post ----- EDIT: Fixed a typo on answer B. I didn't notice it until now. Sorry about that... ----- End

Thankfully I know this one cold--speaking of which, didn't realize it was possible for someone to actually be snow.
It's irrelevant, though, because the answer is A: Old, final.

OK, maybe it is possible for someone to actually BE snow... Funny right? But the answer is A: Old, you've just won $25,000! *Q6 win cue plays* *background turns to blue* OK, you've got $25,000, and if you get the next question correct, you will win $50,000 and you'll be guaranteed to leave here with at least that amount of cash. Plus, you will get a Double Dip lifeline if you reach that milestone level. Still 2 lifelines are here, and here comes question 7: Get it wrong, you lose $20,000. This is worth $50,000.

I can't safely eliminate one answer to the point where I feel comfortable using the 50:50, so let's make a phone call instead.

OK, you've decided to Phone-A-Friend. We're going to call Kimarough and let's see if he knows the answer. *phone ringing* kimarough: Hello? Paul G.: Is it you, kimarough? kimarough: Yes, indeed. Paul G.: This is Paul G. Calling from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. How are you doing? kimarough: I'm fine, thanks. How are you? Paul G.: I'm doing great. Now, we're calling you, because we have woowho, who needs your help at question worth $50,000. And if he gets this right, he'll guarantee to leave the studio with at least that amount of cash. He's already got $25,000 and this is his 2nd lifeline that he is using. So, are you ready? Your time starts now.

Hey woowho. Okay I can eliminate Back and Flood as I have taken a bit of lighting for productions and I know that they are common (Back lighting from behind and flood lighting is a full beam raised from the front). Fill lighting I THINK I have used but I am not very sure. So personally I would think the answer is Key but I am not very certain. About 55%. Sorry if this wasnt much help but I hope you go far!! Don't risk if you aren't certain! *hangs up phone*
