Hello from Finland! The Finnish millionaire was called "Haluatko miljonääriksi?", which means "Do you want to be a millionaire?". It was broadcasted from 1999 to 2007. Since it ended, I've wanted it back on TV very badly. So I created this petition: www.adressit.com/miljonaariIt doesn't matter if you're not Finnish, you can still sign it. I translate the needed information into English: Etunimi = First name Sukunimi = Last name Paikkakunta = Town or city (place where you live) Maa = Country (for example USA is Yhdysvallat) Sähköpostiosoite = Email adress (not necessary) Näytetäänkö allekirjoituksesi kaikille? = Can your name be shown to everybody? (Kyllä = yes, Ei = no, click "ei" if you want nobody (except me) to see your name) And when you're ready, click "Allekirjoita adressi" = "Sign the petition". Thanks so much! I hope that everyone on this forum could sign it! You can also talk about the Finnish show generally in this thread. Edit: Here's a YouTube video for one episode, aired on February 25, 2007: youtu.be/WHlBSZyt23Y

I don't know whether or not you intended it, but that was actually a good dead thread bump. (Not really sure how you found this thread cause it has been buried 4 pages deep, but good on ya.)

I thought that why make a new thread, when there is allready an old thread for the same subject. I was on the audience in one episode, I have a couple photos from there: Edit: 3 Tv spots for the upcoming season of WWTBAM www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwi-JDjuNMY Jaajo Linnonmaa host of the new season says, Excuse me, What is this. Should you use a 50:50 lifeline, it would remove 2 certainly wrong answers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aurAt1W8X7A Hey! Do you know what bus goes to city center? Girl answers, At this point I would like to phone a friend. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rd5hkmA7aqk I can't decide. Tell me whats good. Should you ask the audience? I wish it would be Saturday already

Full episode {Spoiler} Even if you speak Finnish (which I obviously don't) , Finnish Millionaire seems really tough. First contestant walking home with NOTHING and the second contestant needing to use TWO lifelines within the first FIVE questions. Klaxon sounded just as the 10000 euro question (10th out of 15) for the second contestant was about to be read out. Seems stingy in my opinion to only offer 10000 euros on Question 10. It would be absolutely amazing if next episode this guy manages to win the whole million euro prize

I like the lights inside the outer rim of the floor. That's a nice touch.
It's always good to see any version of WWTBAM thriving in any part of the world!

And I think the questions are little bit harder, so channel 4 would not have to pay so much to contestants. But I understand them, because Finland is not a rich country. Atleast the top prize is 1 million euros

Also, no Ask The Audience but instead People Speak and 6 FFF contestants instead of 10? Turns out Finland not only seems to be not a rich country but it also seems to not have a lot of people living in the country. According to Countrymeters apparently there is over 5.4 million people living in Finland. That can't be right. countrymeters.info/en/Finland

In the first episode as you can see only 4 from 120 stand up. If the member of audience gives the correct answer he will get a free night at any scandic hotel, I think its so the audience would try to give correct answer and dont just troll. And I do not know where you live, but as I said we are not that rich, and we do not have huge studios like in US or UK. But I do not mind it, I love the show anyway!

One thing I dislike about some versions of Millionaire is how long it takes to get through the first 5 questions, now I don't speak Finnish, so if the contestants were just talking it out, ok, but I think those should be got through quickly, or at least edited to appear that way, like the UK pre-celebrity-clock era, when (usually) Chris would read the question, they'd give an answer and maybe a witty comment about the joke answer, and then Chris would say if they were right or not.
But, it's great to see WWTBAM returning to parts of the world, maybe there's some hope (albeit extremely small) to see WWTBAM return to the UK one day in the future...

But, it's great to see WWTBAM returning to parts of the world, maybe there's some hope (albeit extremely small) to see WWTBAM return to the UK one day in the future... It feels like a thing newbie hosts tend to do. It's obvious that the communication between the contestant and the host is what gives the game the chance to be exciting. Probably nervous to deliver, new hosts often start with the banter right away. But because timing is just as important, and the first tier is not the right time to start discussions, it gets tedious and awkward. If the presenter has enough time (ratings-wise) to adjust, they usually get into the groove fast and speed things up. I expect that to happen with Chris Harrison, too. The moment the host, the producer, or the editor realizes having the player talk through their thought process on why 1+1 equals 2 isn't interesting, the game improves a lot. P.S.: I don't think it's very unlikely that the UK version will come back one day. It won't be with Chris Tarrant, as far as he is concerned, and it's hard to imagine a way to make the show a real highlight again, but nothing is impossible. I have faith in today's showrunners' lack of innovative ideas, especially in the game show sector.
