Well, I was suggesting making the orange final answer bar a slightly darker orange. A darker color with white text would be easier to read than something that's a medium orange with white text. I've done a lot with skinning in the past and I've noticed that if you have light colored text, it's best to go with a darker background. So possibly making the final answer orange a tad darker than what it is now would work?

We can't make it much darker with it still looking like a "final answer strap." What we've got on there right now is slightly darker than yesterday. The color code for the previous orange was ffa300 and the current one is cf8500. e4960c is in between. We can try that one later. If you've got a suggestion of a shade of orange to try, send me the code (in the format as shown above) and we'll try it out for a day or so. Any darker it just looks like a "gross" shade of orange.

I'm familiar with hex colors so I know it can be hard to come up with one that looks right and is web safe. But the new final answer orange looks a little better with white text, but the purple text heads are a bit harder to read. But personally I'd hate to change that too because it goes perfectly with the current color scheme.
Another suggestion, I'm not sure how well it would fly or even look but what about changing it to the correct answer green? Would that look better? Might be something else you'd like to look into.

That's a good idea. I'll try coming up with more suggestions as well. I'm using the archive to look at the old board layout and see how things looked there and compare them to here to see what works and what doesn't look. Let me know if you guys would like some help since I've got quite a bit of skinning knowledge.

There is something else I noticed completely unrelated to the skin itself. In the scrolling marquee up top, it appears if the news line is too long, part of it will get cut off and you won't be able to read the rest of what is shown.

I actually just finished sending FinalAnswer19 a PM about changing the strap to green before reading your post, !Tommy. We'll definitely try it out and see how it looks.
And thanks for pointing out the news fader issue. I think I resolved that problem for now.
Also, GSK's avatar set has been uploaded to the site. There are now tons of Millionaire-inspired avatars for you to choose from. No longer will those without avatars be forced to use those creepy default Proboards abominations.

I personally think it's better! I can definitely read the white text well and the fuchsia headers better as well.

I think the green highlight definitely improves readability, so I'm glad you guys spoke up. Feedback is always appreciated and helps us to keep improving the site.

One thing I want to say I truly love, even though I think it was more of a fix by Proboards but I love having to only put in the password to the fangames forum once and that's it. That way you don't have to keep doing it everyday or however often you had to to just see if there were any updates in there. Still lovin' the new site!
