Hello, I have found some interesting facts about the creation of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, including the different stages of Cash Mountain, which is infact called The Cash Mountain
Indeed, inside the Approved Judgment of the lawsuit between Celador Production Limited vs Melville a lot of details of the creation of our beloved game are described.
The pdf file containing all the details (but unfortunately not a copy of the original documents) is here.
From this document, I would like to highlight one of the key elements of the game which is the money tree. I came across the topic called My own money tree in which the question of the money tree was discussed, especially the one of The Cash Mountain, well infact, there were several versions. According to this document, there were several versions of the money tree which have been conceived at different times. Here they are (+ The Pilot Programme and the first show...)
Cash Mountain Version 1 (dated 23 October 1995)
Cash Mountain Version 2 (dated February 1996)
Cash Mountain Version 3 (dated 22 October 1997)
Cash Mountain Version 4 (dated January 1998)
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Pilot Programme (Decided in May 1998)
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? First episode
I hope that the information I provided before might interest you and if I find any more information, I will update this post. Fell free to comment if you have read the document (or looked at the tables I made in this post)
