The site RPG has experienced a lot of growth in the last few months. It went from an almost ignored part of the site to one of its big attractions.
With the rise in popularity has come a lot of individual users who want to take on the responsibility of running the RPGs themselves. I think that's fantastic. But as more and more users want to take on the game, the site RPG section is getting a little confusing.
Therefore, I'd like to announce the new rules for the site RPG. Basically, they're the same as before, except all sign-ups will be started and moderated by me. Site users will still get to sign up as the host and run the game as they please. I just don't want twenty different RPGs running at the same time because twenty different members decided to start their own game.
So, there you have it. Keep up the good work, everyone, and have fun playing the world's greatest game!
EDIT: And here is the original set of rules that applies to all Millionaire Fans RPGs, recopied below for the sake of convenience.

The last two RPG projects were disorganized and overly ambitious, resulting in games that dragged on too long and left many dissatisfied members without an opportunity to participate. Therefore, the time has come to revamp our RPG policy in order to make the site RPGs more enjoyable for everyone.
1) Due to high demand, we are going to try running two RPGs concurrently. The same member cannot be the host of both RPGs unless there are no other players willing to take on that role. Similarly, members can only be contestants in both concurrent RPGs if there is a lack of participants willing to sign-up for the role for 72 hours after the sign-up thread goes live. A member can, however, be the host of one RPG and a contestant in the other RPG.
2) RPGs will be text-based from this point forward. Video-based RPGs were an interesting experiment, but not everyone was able to participate and the time requirements of filming the videos slowed the RPG down to a halt. The choice to include graphics is entirely optional, so long as their inclusion does not slow down the game.
3) The Millionaire format that will be utilized in any given RPG will be determined by the RPG's host, who will also serve as the general organizer of the RPG and work to keep the pace of the game moving forward at all times.
4) Only two contestants will get to play the game in any given RPG.
5) If it is a participant's turn to post and he or she does not post within 48 hours of being prompted to do so, then that participant forfeits the right to make his character's next post. Anyone who is willing to take on the role can assume the role of the non-participating player's character and post in that player's place. If the member who originally held the role returns to the RPG, he can resume his original role. If, however, that member fails to post for another 48 hour period in the same RPG, another member can take over the role permanently. A forfeited character can be taken on by any other willing member, so long as there is not a conflict of interest in the RPG (for example, a member who is playing as the contestant cannot also ask the questions).
As usual, I will post the sign-up threads for the next RPGs and unlock them at a specified time so that everyone has an equal chance to nab the role that he or she wants. Good luck to all participants!

Recent events have called for the creation of the additional RPG rules and guidelines below, which are effective as of 4/4/15.
1) It has become increasingly obvious that certain RPG contestants are cheating. While cheating cannot be conclusively proven in most cases, it is usually quite obvious when it occurs. If a contestant has a miraculous run up the money ladder by taking blind guesses for questions that he admittedly does not have a clue about, then it's obvious that cheating has taken place. The goal for everyone who is participating in the RPG is to make the game as realistic as possible. For the host, this means keeping the production organized and entertaining for all. For the contestant, this means answering the questions honestly and taking reasonable risks during the game. If a contestant is suspected of cheating, he/she will be subjected to disciplinary actions such as (but not limited to) a raised warning level or an RPG suspension.
2) A recent increase in irresponsible hosts has necessitated the introduction of a special rule for the host position. The goal of this rule is to encourage members to consider the responsibilities associated with the host position before signing up for it. If a host fails the 48 hour test without prior notice or a very good reason (such as a family emergency), that member will receive an automatic 10% increase in his/her warning level and a 30 day RPG suspension. Subsequent violations of this rule will result in further disciplinary actions being taken at the staff's discretion.
