So, yesterday's episode of German Millionaire had a new design which I haven't seen yet in any other country. It kinda reminds me of the Clock design, dark blue and with more animations. I like it, and the show also needed it, for we have been sticking with the same design for, like... 4 years now? Here's a few pictures: QuestionWinningsMoney Tree and Lifelines

It's pretty good but a little bit simple for the question and the winning layouts.

I don't know why. When I first have seen this graphics I was surprised because changes on German Millionaire are really seldom in my opinion. I thought maybe they also have new rules or so, but only the graphics changed. I wished there were more animations on our version of Millionaire like the Clock format had this glint or something. So all in all, I don't really like the new graphics.

Maybe that's why they changed the graphics. I think they're neat. I like the subtle glint in the winnings strap, those two light spheres emitting from the value. But of course, there could be more animation in the question graphics.

Simple, has a little blend (in my perspective) from the US Clock and the UK Version! Love it!

Wow, is there the ask-3-people lifeline?

quetzalIt seems like your talking about ask the audience, but what is that other, grayed-out lifeline? Is it something different? I'm not sure

The greyed out lifeline is our extra-lifeline which you get if you choose not to have the second milestone. That puts some kind of risk into the game, which is pretty exciting, as you're in constant danger of falling back to 500€. The lifeline itself could be called "ask one of the audience". Should you use it, the host asks anyone who knows the answer from the audience to stand up. The contestant then chooses one, who then announces his opinion. Should the contestant go with the audience member's opinion and the answer turns out to be correct, the contestant (of course) gets the money for the question and the audience member is awarded 500€.

That was what I was talking about. Once here in Chile there was that lifeline, and the contestant had to pick 3 people from the audience. Those who answered correctly won $100.000, but it was the decision of the contestant to pick the correct answer.

Well, if I remember correctly, the host mentioned that the show is being broadcasted in High Definition for the first time. Maybe that's why they changed the graphics. Certainly makes sense, given the vibrant blue that's used. Shows introducing HD often favor blues and blacks because they look fantastic in HD. I think the graphics are fine, but looking at the money tree, I see they still haven't learned that yellow-on-yellow is not a good idea. I'm reminded of the old money straps.
